- Minutes after calling for an estimate, someone showed up, we agreed on the scope of work and the price. We signed a contract and I gave a 50% deposit.
- Two hours later I received a call to verify the check and that it could be cashed. That was on Oct. 23rd. Monday came and went.
- Oct. 28th, I informed him that I now had a contract to sell the house and need to get this done before the closing.
- On Oct. 31, he came by and made two 12" cuts in the driveway and proudly sent me a picture. On Nov. 5th, I got a text that said they would have the concrete removed by the following weekend....
- On Nov 9th, I got a text that said the weather had slowed things up but he should have it finished up by Thur. or Fri.
Nov. 15th, got a text that said he was on the way.
Nov. 17th, someone should up and needed to know where to plug in a jackhammer, On the small front step.....near the door....Amazingly the old driveway was busted up. Half of it piled, the rest remains in place broken up. At this point, you can no longer us the driveway.
Nov. 20th, reminded of the closing on the house and the importance of getting this done.
Nov. 21st, told, via text that someone would be there tomorrow. No one came.
Nov. 23rd, got a text that said he would call me in the morning. Didn't call. Had never called and spoken to me the entire time other than the initial call for the bidding.
Nov. 25th, got a text that said he would have some quote end quote "Mexicans" out there tomorrow. He had to fire the job crew leader for drinking on the job. No one showed.
Nov.28th, got a text at 2:20 in the afternoon explaining that the dump will reopen on Monday to remove the concrete, he would call me then.
Nov.30th, got another text that said he will be there tomorrow. I guess at this point you know what happened.....that was the last I've heard from them.
During the whole ordeal, I only got to speak to him once, when he answered thinking I was someone else, then began explaining that they were working h****** the project, but were going to need another $1300 dollars for unforeseen expenses. It seemed as though I was not the only customer being taken for a ride. I also received a call back from an employee who said that he was out and would call me back. Again, that did not happen.
Dec. 1st, Myself and some friends began removing the concrete ourselves. We hope to get the rest tomorrow, form it up and pour before the closing in 3 days. This company STOLE my entire deposit, BLOCKED my number and NEVER RETURNED to finish the job.
BUYER BEWARE!!!
The price was great, so If you don't mind baby sitting a contractor, can be flexible with the schedule and don't mind doing some cleanup yourself then maybe Driveway Masters is the contractor for you.
