They are prompt and courteous. They did a good job. Their hourly rate is pretty high but if you know what you want done then they go right to it.

I ordered for the work to be done on Thursday, and Mark and his crew came out on Friday. I was impressed by their responsiveness and  efficiency. That day, they down some of the trees and cleared up some debris - but not all. Mark said they would come back on Monday to complete the job. They showed up on Monday and continued to cut down some of the tree trunks and clear up some of the debris, but they didn't clean up all the debris this time. I was told they would be back the following day, Tuesday, but they never showed up or called. On Wednesday, I called the office to find out what was going on. I spoke with Mary. I heard her ask someone in the background what happened and could hear Mark explain their trailer got a flat tire. I explained it would have been professional for a phone call to let me know they wouldn't be out. Mary told me they'll take care of it.

Updates:
On 7/26 I spoke with mary from House Dr. then called Angie's List to file complaint.
On 7/31 I came home and House Dr. came without calling and took away some of the debris, not all.
Response from House Doctors
"To whom it may concern, The member agreed to our price of $1060.00 to cut down and remove (2) two large trees and trim limbs on another large tree. When the sub-contractors began working she asked if their chainsaw would “slip” and cut down (7) additional Crepe Myrtle Trees that were causing her repair issues with her swimming pool. The men agreed to, because they were trying to help the customer in any way possible. We apologize for equipment failure (damaged trailer tire) preventing the final pickup of debris by (4) days. July 31st they went to the residence and cleaned up the remaining debris. House Doctors never offers a payment plan but decided to help the member with a payment plan due to her financial situation which she mentioned often. There is not any tree company that will take payments and we only agreed because she lives close to the office and we wanted to be a good neighbor. If the member does not remit payment in 30 days, we will have no choice but to put a lien on her property. Sincerely, Mark Boyd Owner House Doctors"

I wasn't satisfied with them at all.  They didn't fix the front door.  They didn't put in the screen door properly.  The vanity wasn't installed correctly.  I asked them to come back to fix it, but they refused to.

Mary, who works in the office, is very pleasant. Barry, the handyman, is knowledgeable, efficient and friendly.

Barry arrived on schedule and completed the job on schedule.

The work didn't take as long as estimated. Barry offered to reduce the invoice by one hour or perform an hours work on another chore.

We finally decided to hire professionals to finish removing 20-year-old wallpaper from unprimed drywall and skim coat our bathroom walls and ceiling, since the project had already taken us 6 months, but the professionals promised to be done in a day and a half. Coincidentally, the bathtub drain in the bathroom above chose that day to leak into the ceiling that was being repaired, and Sean the handyman called the estimator, who came right out, enabling Sean to make a hole, clean the drain, repair the hole, and continue his work quickly and efficiently. The initial price included pulling the toilet out to get to the wallpaper, of course, but we chose to paint the room ourselves, which meant that either I'd have to crawl around behind the reinstalled toilet to prime and paint, or else the entire job could not be completed as scheduled. Sean graciously gave me his personal cell phone number and I was able to call him a week later when I'd finished painting, and he came over and hauled the toilet back in and hooked it up. He did a good job on the walls & ceiling & we'll certainly call House Doctors instead of attempting the next bathroom ourselves!

It was a really good experience. They were highly professional and were patient. I have tenants in the house and they were patient enough to see that everything worked out. We had some mold issues and had to have a mold remediation company also on board. House Doctors were very considerate with the timings and the scheduling in terms of getting their job done. They waited until I was ready to actually do their job. I have not seen the finished product but only pictures because I live in a different state.

Work went very well--as expected & in their projected time frame. 12/08 return (see above) was addressed promptly after my call, by the same workman with no complaints or hesitancy. I greatly appreciate the skill level, in multiple areas, of the workman & and high value placed on service & customer satisfaction by Myron Johnson, owner. I have used this House Doctors service at least 5 years & recommend it highly

When my house was inspected, the inspector said that I needed to take care of the bathroom floor "sooner rather than later". He suggested I have a handyman do it because it was a simple matter. It made me nervous. I found House Doctors at a local home improvement showcase. I called and set an appointment. The technician was polite, informative, and provided me with an estimate on the spot. We scheduled the work at a time when I would not be there--my choosing--and when I got home it was done. I crawled under the house and checked it out for myself. I was a little disappointed at what had actually been done, but it agreed with what the inspector had suggested, so I knew it was right. Basically he added supports to the floor in my bathroom because at some time in the home's past, moisture had damaged the subfloor and two joists. I mailed off the check, but I felt a little disappointed. The cost of the materials (from the local home improvement store) adds up to less than $50. I was only at work for eight hours. That means the handyman-at the very least- cost $81/hr. Since it probably took less than two hours to do, I think his actual price was closer to $326/hr.
Response from House Doctors
"THE WORK WAS DONE MARCH 14, 2008. WE ESTIMATED THE WORK WOULD TAKE SIX HOURS AND I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK THE TECHNICIAN TO DO THE WORK. THE ACTUAL COST OF THE MATERIAL WAS $140.00. WE DON'T CHEAT PEOPLE. WE DID WHAT WE SAID WE WOULD DO AT THE AGREED UPON PRICE. HE HAD THE OPTION OF GETTING OTHER ESTIMATES SO HE COULD COMPARE PRICES. WE ARE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE COMPANY."
