Doug was recommended to me by a contractor. I called him and he asked me to let him know my basic idea and email any sketches I had so far. Then he set up an appointment to come take measurements of the back of my house and where the back porch addition would go--he was quiet, friendly, and professional. He charges $30 an hour and he estimated $200-$600 range for the drafting project, but charges hourly for work done. A week later he emailed me a first draft and asked for any additional comments or questions. I wanted to add a vaulted ceiling and a fan, and he added those to the drawing and finalized it with details. The drawings from different angles and levels of detail are very professional, with plenty of notes about materials and procedures. The final cost was $240 for 8 hours worked. I can now take these drawings to my any builder I choose to get a quote and for them to use as a blueprint. I would definitely use Doug again for any future projects--just let him know your time frame and he'll work with you.
