Mark was wonderful to work with! My husband and I found Mark through an advertisement left at our residence. We initially contacted Mark because we needed plants removed from our yard. We had purchased our house in 2013 - it was built in 1990 - but the yard was a mess. It was obvious the previous owners did not do any maintenance - our yard was so overgrown that we found an old basketball and an old fishing rod beneath some ivy! We initially were not planning on hiring someone to completely re-landscape our yard, but once we met with Mark and spoke with him about possibilities for landscaping, we loved his ideas and decided to hire him for a complete yard make-over. He met with us at our house, sat down with us, drew our his design plans for the front and back yard, and suggested and explained the plants that he thought would work best in our yard taking into consideration our soil, sun/shade, and our personal preferences. Mark was always professional and never pushed us to make a quick decision. He was always responsive in answering our questions (we are new to plants and landscaping). Once we decided on a final plan, Mark had our front and back yard completed within a two week period. I had chosen a crabapple tree, which was not in the original plan, but Mark worked with us and went well out of his way - calling many nurseries and eventually driving over an hour - to find us the perfect tree! He also put in a walkway in our back yard with stone pavers, pea gravel, and edgers. The results were absolutely beautiful! We have received many compliments from neighbors. The neighbors on either side of our house, as well as one of our coworkers, also hired Mark after seeing the great work he did on our yard. Spring has now come, and we will be hiring Mark again to do some yard clean up and put down new mulch. The plants that were planted are now starting to bloom, and I'm excited that they all survived their first winter in our yard. Mark is a professional and reliable landscaper who has a great eye for landscape design, as well as the experience and knowledge required to ensure that your plants will successfully thrive throughout Charleston's various seasons.
