Very well.

Wow, just.... WOW! I have curly hair. Easy to take care of, easy to "style", right? Not so much. As everyone knows it's all about the cut. I've been in Myrtle Beach, SC for about 6.5 yes and I've seen several stylists who "specialize" in cutting curly hair. I've been happy w/ the cuts, but none of them have been what I really wanted. I go to the appt knowing what I want and praying that this time it will happen, this time the stylist gets it. And every time the person tells me that my hair is perfect for this or that style. That's code for "I can cut your curly hair but only if you beat it into submission like this......" Finally, I found someone who not only gets that I love my curls and I just want to get out of the shower, fluff, and go and my hair looks good, but this guy loves and celebrates curls. Gregory Blyth is the god of stylists of curly hair! Not only did I get exactly what I've been praying for (a decent cut that is wash and go) I got an education in caring for my curls. I have never been told most of the stuff he told me about. Who knew I could change the type of curls w/ just a few alterations in the way I dry my hair. I can blow it straight of course, but I can get really tight small curls or big loose wavy or beachy curls w/ a few drying tips he showed me. Oh - and BTW he didn't try to sell me a bunch of products I don't need. And he didn't try to st me up w/ appts every 6 weeks for the rest of my life. He said everyone is different. Some curly girls need a trim every 7-8 weeks, and some can go 12-14 weeks. I'll call him when I need to. I really love the way that shop does business. It wasn't just me - I over heard great advise given to a couple of new clients and as well as warm greetings and goodbys to regular established customers. Talented, ethical, friendly, professional, exceptionally knowledgeable, prompt, and warm. I'd say Vega Hair Design has it all.

I LOVE this place! When I first relocated from SC to NJ, I went to another shop that came recommended. It was culture shock! I felt like it was something out of Steel Magnolias. Although the cut/color was okay, I didn't quite feel like I "fit in." I found Beth, owner of Vega Hair Design by asking a woman who was shopping in Ulta one day. I admired her hair and asked where she went? She couldn't rave enough about Beth, and I could see why! Beth is amazing!!!! Her work speaks for itself. She is a highly talented and skilled designer and KNOWS hair and color like nobody else. From what I see, all of the Stylists at the salon are great. It's a warm and friendly atmosphere and they make you feel like family. I wouldn't go anywhere else. You will not be disappointed.

I saw Beth, who is the owner. She is wonderful. Very professional and kind. She asked me questions about how I wanted my hair to look. She was very thoughtful and really knows what she is doing. You can tell she has lots of experience and is up to date on styling. I felt very much at ease. I make my appointments ahead and am so glad I found Vega!!

I moved to Myrtle Beach from California mid March. In April, I was due for a haircut and color. There is nothing scarier than living in a new town and having no clue who to go to for hair and nails--especially hair. I heard a saying many years ago and it is so true. "Nothing grows slower than a bad haircut!"
I had a wedding to attend April 13 in KY and was going to be seeing family members I had not seen for years, so even more pressure! I research on Google and then happened to think of Angie's List. I had never used it but had heard good things about it from others. I found Vega Hair Design there. Checked their webpage and read about all their stylists. Several had great credentials but I decided to try to book with Greg.
He was awesome! Spent time talking with me beforehand so that he knew what I wanted. We had great conversation and I LOVE my haircut and color! So much so, that when my best friend came to visit from GA, I treated her to cut, color and highlights for her birthday present. She was very happy with hers also.

Everything went very well, felt welcome and Shana knew what she was doing, took her time to talk to me. I have very thick hair and a lot of it, so I need a cut that dosn't make me look like the Duch Boy. Shana took her time and was perfect.....from start to finish....very happy.

Greg is innovative and up to date. He's got tons of experience and really knows his stuff. He's wonderful. The staff and environment are wonderful as well.

We are snow birds and know very little about the service industries here in Myrtle Beach. I was desperate for a hair cut! I had been growing out my hair for donating and I'd had it. It had to go or I was going to perform surgery on myself. Done it before. Not pretty.I checked Angie's List for salons and found one report for a salon in my area. It was a very good report.I called, (on a Saturday) explained the sitch, and was given the option for an appointment within the hour. Shanna Sims met me at reception, introduced herself, and talked about what I was looking for; Sophisticated, relaxed, youthful, etc.After taking the donation, I got a scalp and neck massage with the shampoo. Wonderful! Than Shanna gave me one of the best cuts I have ever gotten. Trust me, that is no small feat.I was a little apprehensive about Shanna's age. I thought that she might not have the experience to properly "read" and cut curly hair. But, I figured it would have to be better than what I could do, and WTH - it will grow out.WOW WOW WOW! I left feeling like a million bucks! And let's be honest, isn't that what we pay for...? and have rarely received at a first cutting. I usually have to go back at least once for another shot at getting it right.I am so glad I have Angie's List! And I'm very grateful for the previous report on Vega Hair Design!

Gene did a beautiful haircut...it even looked good, wet!
