We recently bought new countertops for our condo in Myrtle Beach. The women that sold us the tops was very friendly and knowledgeable. We ended up buying Corian tops for the kitchen and wet bar. The kitchen is U-shaped with a peninsula breakfast bar set up. The tops came with the install but I was going to do the tear out and install of the sinks. They proceeded to measure and set the new tops in place. They made a few splices that turned out well. Installed the back slashes and caulked. They did not caulk everything. They said the gap between the wall and backsplash was by me. It would have taken him 2 min but fine I can finish the job. They left and I proceeded to install the kitchen sink. The first thing I noticed was the opening for the sink was cut to big. (Yes the old sink was right there so they could measure it before cutting the opening) I am capable of doing my own home repairs so I made spaces with what I had available to center the sink as best I could. I had ¼” to seat the sink on all four sides. Because my spacers where a little thin the sink could still move leaving me maybe 1/8” to 3/16” to seat the sink if not perfect. The best scenario but could be worse. I got the caulk in and now tried to anchor the sink. The standard sink clamps are meant to clamp to a ¾” to maybe 1” thick countertop. When they cut the opening, they cut into the backer wood so now you are looking at 1 ½” thick to clamp to. I investigated extra-long clamps but it was not going to help on the front part of the sink because the opening was flush with the inside of the cabinet. Bottom line no way to secure the sink on the front edge. I decided to work on the wet bar sink and quit on that as soon as I dropped the sink in the hole. The hole measured 24 7/8” wide and the overall sink width is 25” so in a perfect world you have 1/16” to seal on. (Yes, the sink was right there to measure) Absolutely not acceptable. We called the installer and they sent the guy back out and he installed the tops as best he could with calk everywhere. Don’t need to tell you how bad that looked. He tried to clamp the sink to my spacers that were held in place with a single 1 ½” finish nail (This was sad). It was obvious the flange of the sink was not pulled down flush with the countertop. I poured water on the kitchen top after he was done and water ran in. He said the silicon would just wash away if not cured 12 hours. The same problems with the wet bar sink. He re-caulked and the next day I tried again and water just ran right into the cabinet. Once again not acceptable. We called the installer again and they were going to send the same guy so I told them not to bother and I would call home depot to resolve this issue. Home depot had a third party inspection done and he said the openings where to big. Home depot called Thompson and they did not agree with the third parties evaluation. So Thompson made me an offer to add 1/2" all around the inside which would make the opening the proper size as opposed to replacing the tops and stupid me I agreed. The work was done and the only did the sides but not the corners. I guess corners don't leak. I called Thompson back and they said this is all they are going to do. So now it is back in Home Depots hands. I will update this If Thompson Stone and Marble Makes this right.

Thompson Stone and Marble did a great job on the counter tops!
Billy and Andrew helped me through the process of picking the perfect granite and edging that fit my kitchen plan and budget. Sandy, John, and Scott helped me through the admin, scheduling, and measuring. The installers were very professional and considerate. I especially appreciate their careful work as they were laying huge pieces of rock on my new cabinets. I will defiantly use them again and recommend them to friends and family. I wish I could post a picture on here, my kitchen looks like it should be in a magazine.
A huge thank you to the Thompson team

Our contractor scheduled for the company to come out and measure the area for the countertop. We then went to the vendors site and picked out the stone that we wanted. The sales person showed us around and then suggested that we look around and if we find a stone that we like to come and get her. Once we found the stone we wanted we worked with the sales person to process the paperwork. She then introduced us to the person in the shop who would cut the granite for our kitchen. He took us back out to the stone that we selected and ask us about our preference of the grains in the stone and marked off the stone for cutting based on our preferences. We then went back to the office and scheduled a date for the installation, a Saturday. The two gentlemen, Ronnie and Tim, who did the installation were excellent. They were very professional, efficient and quick. They were friendly and answered our questions. They did a great job. We are very happy with the end result. I did not rate the price, as I do not know if it is good or not. It is comparable with another kitchen job we had done recently and the stone is very good quality.

I ordered new cabinets and granite countertops from the Home Depot on Seaboard St. In Myrtle Beach. The granite deal included a free sink. I was asked to go to Thompson Stone on highway 544 to approve the granite slab and select the sink. I did that and selected a 60/40 under mount sink. Thompson installed everything about a week later. After the granite was in place I realized that the sink was a 70/30 and a regular sized plate would would not even fit into the small side with the garbage disposal. I believe that the Thompson employee wrote down the wrong model number (3119 instead of 3120). Now there is no way to fix the problem without destroying the $8,000 worth of new cabinets and backsplash. Thompson refuses to acknowledge that any mistake was made and refuses to correct their mistake or compensate me. They first claimed that 3119 was a 60/40 sink, then they claimed that I approved a 70/30 sink. I have since heard that this is typical for Thompson. They rely on volume business from Home Depot and are not concerned with the quality of their workmanship. Home Depot did send me a $250 gift card which is insignificant compared to the $12000 that I spent.

We purchased marble counter tops for our kitchen and master bathroom.  Thompson's were late on delivery and the quality of the finish and workmanship was marginal at best.  After the install they did not reinstall the cook top and it was obvious why...they had cut the granite incorrectly for it to fully recess.  It took two weeks to get them to come back to look at the issue.  Of course they had been paid in full so we had no leverage and were relying on their professionalism to correct the problem.  After the inspection we had to call several times to get a schedule fix date and then it was two more weeks.  Being somewhat upset we asked for some consideration since it was obviously their error.  We were told bluntly that they had several more kitchens and jobs to do and that we would just have to wait our turn.  As the representative stated "there's just nothing I can do for you, you will just have to wait your turn".
This experience was disheartening and I would suggest using someone else in the area of Myrtle Beach with more professionalism and honesty.

They came when they said they were going to and the material and workmanship were very good.
