About us

This business has been family-owned and operated since 1978. Service calls are $70.00 for first appliance ($25.00 for each additional appliance), and includes diagnosis of problem. Basic labor charge is $30.00 on most jobs, but is subject to increase depending on the difficulty and/or time involved in completion of repair. Customer is responsible for purchase and taxes on parts needed for repair completion. Calls are scheduled in order received. Calls can be made for morning (9-12), or afternoon (1-5). Since there is no way of telling how rigorous a job will be, we do NOT give timed appointments.

They were quick to assess the problem and get us an estimate for the work.  They were replacing the clock and overlay of a Frigidaire oven/range.  Unbeknownst to Nelson Appliance, I had already been in contact with the manufacturer and new the cost of the parts.  Nelson Appliance did not mark up that cost of parts which says a lot about integrity.  The company as a whole was good about communicating with us the time frame for parts to be received and the work to be completed.

The initial service call was timely and efficient.  He said the office would get back to me with an estimate, which they did.
The serviceman returned and replaced the electrical panel quickly.  I was extremely pleased with the service and the serviceman.
I  will absolutely use this service for any future appliance needs.

My 1and 1/2 Yr. old KitchenAid Microwave required a transformer replacement not covered by warranty. The repair bill was $324.00.Nelsons Appliance suggested I contact KitchenAid by telephone and explain my situation ,as this was an appliance just over 1 yr.old . I called KitchenAid and the KitchenAid Co. paid for the entire repair. The honest thoughtful suggestion from Nelson's saved me $324.00.Highly recommend Nelsons Appliance repair

Called this service company in the early PM, leaving a message. They returned the call in short order, committing to be at my house the following afternoon. They called late AM today to confirm that I was home and that the serviceman would be coming out in the early PM. He arrived and was able to make the necessary repairs on-site (fortunately, no new parts required). The serviceman was very pleasant and professional, and obviously new just what steps to take to identify the causes for the problems.

Our washer failed to rinse and spin properly on 9 December. We contacted Lowes Appliance Advantage to schedule a repair. Lowes sent us an email indicating Nelsons Appliance would be there in the morning sometime between 8-12. When we called Nelsons, we were informed they don't open until 0830 and their first call is at 0900. According to Lowes, Nelsons has told them that they would accept the 8-12 window.
Nelsons came out on 12 December and determined that the washer needed two parts. No one called me to let me know if the parts were ordered and when they would arrive. I had to call them to determine the status of the repair. We were told the parts would be installed on 17 December.
I called on 17 December to find out when they would be at my home to find out they had to cancel because they had a man calls in sick and it was a two -person job, so they would have to reschedule. I told the agent that I wanted a first call and she said the first available was 0900 on Wednesday, 19 December.
On 19 December, I called Nelsons at 0920 and 0940 to find out where they were. Both times I got a recording. The repair people finally showed up around 0950. I told them I had expected them at 0900 and was told the first call was between 0-900-1000. To that I said that the person who set up the appointment told me their first appointment was at 0900. Mr. Harby replied with, and quot;That's a lie.and quot; I asked him what was a lie and he replied that no one told me that they would be their at 0900, hence calling me a liar. I didn't argue further since it was obvious he wasn't the least bit interested in the fact that I was perturbed with their lack of punctuality.
Under no circumstances will I have Nelsons work on any appliance. Further, I will tell anyone who asks me about appliance repair what Nelsons did in terms of calling me a liar.

Tim was prompt, professional, pleasant, and explained what he was doing step-by-step. He apprised me of what to do/expect if the problem recurred, which was a distinct possibility given the problem. I will definitely use them again for other service calls, and would recommend them without hesitation.
