"Not sure if [member name removed] is referring to my company or not. The dates and amounts do not match the service order he signed. His computer was in my shop in April 2013 and his bill was $100. He had the FBI spyware and about another 46 infected files. He was given a completed service order receipt with all of the work done. I personally advised [member name removed] what to do if the FBI spyware came back. We never heard from him afterwards and he never called to complain."
"The member's computer was initially thoroughly tested and I found absolutely no hardware issues. I removed (3) minor infected spyware files and gave him back his computer. He called my office the following Monday and said he could not get the pc to turn on. I asked him to return it for another diagnostic. After testing his power supply again, it had failed. We replaced the power supply and did not charge him labor. We do use very accurate testing devices when we do our initial diagnostics. It was unfortunate that a storm may have damaged his computer, we never know until it fails. The member was charged an additional $35 for another power supply. I did advise him on reliable protection for his computer equipment. Not sure why he reported this, we never received any other contact or complaint from him."
