Air Power

I found the Air Power website while searching for an alternative to the popular HVAC companies out there, and my ever-growing frustration with their services and prices. Mike Powers' sentiments really spoke to me. I was previously told by two other companies that my system needed to be replaced prematurely, and received quotes of $6,500 and $8,000. When the system finally needed replacement, Air Power completed the job swiftly and professionally for $4,150. Need I say more? I am a very satisfied customer, as I'm sure you will be!

Mike Powers was very diligent. He diagnosed the problem, went over my options and gave me a very fair price. Install was completed on schedule and within budget. System performs flawlessly. I enjoy working with Mike. A great guy. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike to anyone!

Great! Loved how truly honest Mr. Powers was, so much that I fired my old HVAC company. The old company came out, said nothing was wrong (although my upstairs was registering 85 degrees.) Air Power came out, regulated the air flow and all was cool and fine afterwards!

Called Mike at 9:00 am and he was here at 10:00 am. He arrived promptly at appointment time to troubleshoot the unit to find out he needed a part to repair. Within 45 minutes he called back to let me know he couldn't get the part locally and would have to find it elsewhere. He contacted me later that afternoon to let me know the part was discontinued and would have to find an alternate solution to repair the unit. I then told him the unit had stopped working and he was back in 20 minutes to get it heating again, this was excellent since it was going to be 20 degrees that night. Mike told me he would be back in a couple of days to repair the unit. He was here on time as promised to rebuild the part since it had been discontinued and a replacement part would not work, also he had to add Freon. The price was very reasonable, the service and knowledge was excellent. Will definitely call Mike for future HVAC needs.

Fantastic! They actually troubleshot the system. He brought out a freon sniffer and checked the system out. And then repaired the system. It was only a small valve, like a bicycle tire, that needed to be replaced. Sharp contrast vs first 2 companies: The first company wanted $300 for a dye leak check. The 2nd company didn't even bother after verifying that there was no refrigerant and thus a leak. They were both pushing for a whole new system. Air Power also gave me a more than reasonable price for the freon charge into the system. Only gave a B for responsivenss as it took 2 days to get back to me. Likely because he is in high demand and a smaller(?) operation. This is the company for me.

Great! Honest and figured out the problem when another company had just been to check out and said there was nothing wrong with the unit but that it needed to be replaced. I know, that made no sense. Mike came in, realized the dampers needed to be opened. That's all that was wrong. His honesty saved me $5k!

The service provided was excellent. The owner came on a Saturday without charging for overtime, then very quickly diagnosed and fixed our problem. He was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. We are new to the area and feel we were lucky to have found such an excellent service provider right off the bat . Air Power is now our "go to" company for any HVAC needs!

Called Air Power (Mike) at 8 am on Saturday. He was here by 10 and repaired it by 10:30. Great service.

Mike was on time, reviewed unit, gave me recommendations & options on repair. Completed the work in less from an hour.

All Power was on time, Install was great and clean, they knew what they were doing. Price was great, over all other bids.

The HVAC system in my condo wasn't cooling properly, so I called one of the larger repair services in the area who had worked on it in the past. They said that due to corrosion on the condenser that it wasn't able to cool properly. The unit is only about 6 years old but is on the ocean so it seemed reasonable to expect it to age faster than normal. They wanted me to completely replace the entire system because it is using the old R22 refrigerant. Another option was replace the coil, but the technician said its usually best to replace the whole unit. I thought it was crazy to completely replace a system that is only 6 years old (it was installed 3 year before I bought the unit), so I then called Mike to get another opinion. He wasn't available when I called but I left a message and he called me right back! He offered to stop by later the same day to look it over. It turned out the system was overpressurized which was preventing it from cooling properly. He lowered the pressure and now I have the proper amount of cool air blowing in the unit. We talked about the condition of the condenser and he said he has seen worse and that I should be able to get some life out of it. We will see how it goes, but I think Mike saved me a lot of money! At the very least, it gives me some time to consider my options. I will definitely call him again! Knowledgeable, honest and returns your calls!

They replaced a circuit board which had failed and the problem immediately went away.  Only wish I had called them earlier as my electric bill was outrageous for the month because of the unit not being able to cycle down.  He did an excellent job.  Prompt and reasonably price.

Outstanding.  Always good when the owner shows up to do the work.  He was nearly $4,000 cheaper than the next closest estimate I got .  He also pulled permits like he was supposed to.  My previous guy never did that.  I highly recommend Air Power.nd

It went extremely well.  I did not know I had the duct issues till he showed them to me.  The attic was cooler than the house, that is how bad it was.  I have had the heat pump and air handler serviced each year since I have owned the house and no one has ever even looked at the air ducts.  I just checked and there is a huge difference.  Just shows what can be done when you take the time to do a job right the first time.  

This is the second of four houses we own at Surfside and I can't wait till they are all checked and tuned.  The last house Mike serviced is running much more efficiently now than it ever has run.

A phone call was made at 1 pm and by 2:15 Air Power was on the job.  Cleaned and blew out lines.  Replaced Freon.  Made several recommendations for us to keep the problem from returning.  Mike Powers owns the company and he personally came out.  He was different from others we have used in the area, he was personable, extremely knowledgeable, and never tried to sell us anything.  In fact he gave us pointers on some things we could do to cut down on service calls.  Without a doubt he was one of the best I have ever worked with and the best part was I felt he was honest. 



The best part was he was fast, efficient and never tried to sell us services we did not  need or want.
