"[member name removed] I apologize for the delay. Part of the delay was on the data recovery. The lack of communication is totally unacceptable and I'm very sorry. Is there anything we can do to make you a happier client? I cut the bill down significantly based on the delay and hope you accept out apologies and allow us to make it up to you."
"Thank you (Removed member name), we appreciate your business and look forward to helping you with all of your technology projects in the future."
"I'm sorry for your inconveniences, but we only charged you for the time needed to get your machine back in action. We did not charge you anything for the initial diagnostics that proved to be a bad power supply AND bad motherboard. Of course we tried to sell you a new computer, that's our hob. I also told you that I was totally fine with you buying an HH Gregg computer and more than happy to transfer your data to it. In regards to the application transfer, we both got a little twisted. I told you we could not transfer programs, but could move your data. I stated we could reinstall the programs then import your old data to those programs. When you brought the HH Gregg computer to us, you didn't provide the software, the license keys or any detail about these programs. I discussed all this info with you after you attempted to install it yourself. You brought it back to us and we had to learn the process of importing the data and implementing the license keys for 5 versions of software. We had to bill you otherwise sir or we are working for free. The initial fee was for your data recovery and migration to the new machine. The second fee was for learning, installing and configuring all your accounting software. We billed you for way less time than we actually spent on the computer and nothing for the initial dead PC. I'm sorry it took longer than anticipated and due to your profession I'm sorry you were down. We did everything as fast as we could, overnighted parts for you, I absorbed the costs of that and worked a very long night after hours to get the machine ready for you the next day.....all for $246."
"Thank you [member name removed] for your review. What could we have done better to get straight A's? We want to strive to be excellent. B's are good, but I want our clients to feel like they received our absolute best. Thanks and have a blessed day. Jud Leggett 843-884-1323"
"The technician that dropped the ball on this assignment was reprimanded and we take full responsibility for missing an appointment and hope you accept our sincere apology. That technician no longer works for The Computer Guyz and there is ZERO tolerance for ignoring customer requests."
He also recommended a new desktop for $900, which I'm glad I didn't purchase. All I had to do was replace the HD, re-install Vista and upgrade to 8 , which costed me $105 in all, and my PC is working.
He is professional, knowledgeable, and I know he did all he could, but I like paying for the results, not for the time spent; therefore my ratings.
"[member name removed]: the cup of french press coffee you made me was very much appreciated and wonderful. I went onsite to troubleshoot the issues that [member name removed] house. Her All-In-One PC had fallen off the desk and was damaged. It took nearly an hour to get inside the machine because of the All-In-One architecture of the device. I removed the drive attempted to recover her data onsite, then brought it back to my shop, ran several intensive data recovery passes on it but the drive was dead. I offered to have the drive sent off to a partner that specializes in data recovery (but is VERY expensive). I gave her the options and she decided to just buy another PC because her PC was over 4-5 years old. I did the research, found a suitable All-In-One machine, purchased it with her permission and scheduled to do the install/delivery. On my way to deliver the PC, she says: I changed my mind and don't want the PC. So I had to return the computer, pay the restocking fee, and pay the shipping to return it. I still went onsite to her house to do additional data recovery attempts from another USB hard drive that she used to backup her machine in the past. I was able to find some existing data and restored all that was available. Of course she could have done the work herself, but she hired and asked me to handle it. I would like to start using the vendor where I can get a replacement hard drive and the upgrade to Windows 8 for $105. That price is FANTASTIC! Invoice details: I billed her $79 for onsite troubleshooting that was well over 2 hours total. I billed her $125 for data recovery which included: onsite data recovery attempt, then taking the hard drive back to my shop and spending another 2 hours trying to restore data, acquiring a new PC for her, me paying the restocking fee, shipping and research to find a suitable machine to her liking. $204 for 2 trips to her house, a minimum of 5 hours spent working for her and the costs I ate for returning the machine is VERY fair."
They diagnosed the problem and called me with my options the next day. I was very pleased with their mannerism, their professionalism, and their willingness to work with my schedule.
I did not get estimates from anyone else so I cannot say if the price was competitive. I only know that when I have an issue with my computer, I want a professional doing the work. I was satisfied with the price I paid for the work performed.
This isn't Staples or Office Depot. These guys have skin in the game and need to do the job right. I would use them again and I would recommend them to others.
I would never call anyone else to come into my house or business. They are AWESOME in every way. The price was pretty cheap in my eyes for all that he did. I thought it would have been way more expensive.
"I took time to make sure she understood the setup and give her the advantages and disadvantages of both methods of connecting and the options available. I don't like to rush and wanted to make sure the setup was understood and the options were on the table. Since the onsite visit, I've helped her over the phone on 3 different occasions and traded emails at no charge. I don't think a 2 hour onsite visit, 3 phone calls and email correspondence are unreasonable at $160 compared to the competitive services available."
I have referred him to 3 other people in my neighborhood and he PAID ME for the referrals!!!!! He was WELL WORTH the cost and more. I would NEVER call anyone else. I've had a question here and there since he worked on my computer on non-related issues and he quickly answered my questions in seconds.
He amazed me with his knowledge and I would definitely recommend The Computer Guyz. Oh yeah....they donate 1% of all the money they make to help with breast cancer awareness. Most companies are all about making the money and running....NOT these "Guyz"!!!!!
"Thank you Member, it was a pleasure to assist you. If there is anything you need, please let me know. Have a blessed day!"
