1. Bruce was very congenial, professional, easy to talk to, and made helpful suggestions.
2. During the time we dealt w/Lowcountry Construction, their distributor of pavers suffered a fire at their plant which required Bruce to locate another distributor and our having to pick out another paver. This caused a significant delay in our job being started
3. The only complaint we have is that Bruce did not keep us informed of what was going on nor was he responding to our phone calls. Lack of communication with customer was the reason we rated "Responsiveness" with a "D".
4. We would use Lowcountry Construction again, but we would address the lack of communication issue.
5. Employees on the job were professional, hard-working, and the work was excellent.

This is not the norm. I know that part of the communication is that i was on vacation during part of the wait and the fire at the plant was the reason for the wait. The work was very well done and turned out better then expected. The pool interior looks really good and was one of their standard finishes. They installed a swim jet in the pool that works very well and is well hidden in the wall of the pool. There is an automatic cover that is built under ground so you do not see anything but the leading edge and it opens / closes in 30 seconds or less.
All and all very happy with Lowcountry Custom Construction and the work they did on my pool and related projects. I would recommend them to others.

New to the area, what a great find! My yard was in desperate need of a makeover, paved patio and a beautiful pool. I was introduced to the owners at a fundraiser and was offered a free estimate. We had little hope due to the awful grade of the yard. Bruce took the time to ask for details of what our dream yard wouild be. A week later, a beautiful plan was presented to us. Words can not express our delight. Attention to detail, quick response to requests and within budget. Highly recommend Lowcountry Custom Construction!

As soon as the pool was complete, it started to show signs of foundation problems. Ram Jack was brought in to fix the problems that existed and perform substantial work to correct problems caused by poor construction. During that work, Ram Jack discoverd that LowCountry failed to properly follow the engineering plan directions. Over the course of 3 years, we had to bring in other companies to fix this problem and LowCountry refused to be responsive and fix the problem. We ultimately ended up taking Mr. Olson and LowCountry Custom Construction to court. Both filed for bankruptcy protection before settling the matter.

"This is a false report of occurrences. The soils report supplied by the customer was incorrect, this project was built on fill dirt brought in by the contractor. The pool was built as specified and yes there was immediate settling which was not due to the pool but the soils that it was built on. We have bee building in the Charleston area and this is the only occurrence that we were unable to remedy a customer issue. We have hundreds of pools built all over the Lowcountry without issues or complaints. We went way out of our way including working with RamJack for several days, resetting the entire deck all for free to try to please this customer to no avail. This job was done back in 2007 and he is just now posting this issue. You can't please all people. If i had it to do over again i would not let this customer talk me into using his supplied soils report to " save them the money" i would have had my engineer take care of this as always which would have showed that this ground was not stable and would not support such a project."
