I was stunned when after 3 or 4 minutes the doctor left the room and I asked the assistant if he was done and she said yes! He did not do any checking for moles etc. and the assistant said they only did that if you had an issue. I have always gone to a dermatologist for a yearly skin exam and never have I experienced anything like this. I felt he was much more interesting in selling me something than in my health. I would never recommend this business to anyone and have in fact alerted my insurance carrier as to how I was treated.

They prescribed a handful of topicals, which were ok but either irritated my skin or just didn't really work. They then tried an oral (Solodyn) which cleared things up tremendously without side effects. They say they would rather me not be on it long-term, but it's the only thing I've found that works - so I've been going on and off it for years now. Coastal Dermatology has been pretty good facilitating prescription refills and such. Their office is very nice, but sometimes I have to wait 15-30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen.

I've been going to this practice for several years. I really like it at first. It seems like during my recent visits, the doctor is always rushed and doesn't take the time to address my concerns. I was there for my annual skin check and she did about a 30 second once over and that was it. When I addressed some skin questions, the answers I got were and quot;there is really nothing you can do for thatand quot;. The wait time at this office is terrible. During this visit, there wasn't even another person in the waiting room and I still had to wait 30 minutes for the doctor to come in. The staff during this particular visit was fine, but I've had terrible experiences with the staff in the past including involving speaking with a staff member about calling in a prescription and then having her argue with me when she didn't call it in. Currently, searching for a new dermatologist in Mt. Pleasant.

Overall, they run a good practice. Their facility is very clean and the people are courteous. The only issue is that I usually have to wait quite a bit past my appointment time to be seen (20-30 minutes), which really isn't all that abnormal for doctor's offices.

They do a good job but they are only open a few days a week. I will continue to go there.
