Being a former West Suburban Chicagoan, I sometimes set my standards too high and am disappointed. Have owned 5 houses (last one here in SC) and have had 5 different painters. Well, CertaPro - Juan's Team (remember that one, Juan's team) restored my confidence in the essence of craftsmanship when it comes to interior painting. I've only had one other painting contractor who performed as meticulous work as CertaPro - Juan's team and that was 25 years ago. Critical key performance indicators include 1) Wall Prep (A) - they spent a half day on that; 2) Caulking (A) - color matched and lines were uniform and even with no smearing marks; 3) Accuracy in lines between walls and trim (A) - couldn't find any bleed over with my Nitecore flashlight in reviewing their work; 4) Smooth even tones across all wall surfaces big and small (A) - this is where thorough wall prep and proper brush/roller technique raises the bar on performance; 5) No paint spatter on furniture, clothing, floors, or carpet (A) - my wife is the expert on this area that Juan's team passed with an A; 6) Not leaving tools, ladders, drop cloths etc. overnight where someone can trip on them (A); Juan would do a walk through before being the last team member out the door at night; 7) Finishing the job on time as promised (AA) - Juan's team which counted up to 6 I believe, finished a day early with the exemplary ratings above; 8) Clean up (A); no dust, foot tracks or fingerprints left on windows, tv screens, mirrors etc; 9) Moved furniture, tv's, clothing without piling things on top of each other promoting damage (A); no question here; and finally 10) Juan found an edge between the ceiling and the wall going up the stairs that I missed and corrected it (A) - a hallmark of a professional whose calling card is his portfolio. That's as good an assessment of expectations meeting performance as I've experienced lately.

The painters did a wonderful job. Everything looks terrific. A large number of boards had to be replaced on 3 of our decks, around our chimney and on the house itself. All the work including power washing the house, caulking everything, replacing all the boards,doing a prime coat, giving everything 2 coats of paint and cleaning up after themselves was done very quickly and started on time. We would definitely recommend them!

They were awesome to work with and the crew was very professional and extremely detailed. We were very happy with their work from beginning to the end. We basically "lived" with the crew for about a week. In addition, the office crew was great to work with for the contract phase right through to completion. Very responsive and had great customer service.

The actual painters did a great job, they were very thorough and detailed oriented. I wasn't initially happy and they came back and were very responsive to my feedback and fixed the issue I had immediately.

I was so impressed!! They not only did a fabulous job, but they were SO nice and so professional. Being a female business owner I was really excited to see the all female paint crew!! They were neat, clean fast and GOOD!!!! They literally took apart my entire office (I had done nothing) and when I got back they were not only done, but the office was totally put back the way it was (pictures, light switches, clean up... everything!).
Also, the guy they sent to do the quote (Kevin) was very professional, kind and business like. The quote he gave us was what we paid.
I would 100% recommend CertaPro to anyone needing painting!!

We had a fantastic experience with Certa Pro! They were extremely courteous and professional throughout the entire process. Their quote was the second lowest out of the 5 we gathered, but their professionalism combined with their EZ Pay option sold us. We hired them to paint several areas of our house before putting it on the market. They did walls, doors, baseboards, popcorn ceilings, exterior boards, and kitchen cabinets. Everything came out perfect. The kitchen cabinets, in particular, were absolutely stellar. The only downside to the experience is that the work took about a week longer than it was supposed to. Still, we would definitely use them again.

Job well done! Porches look great - Two coats of paint applied. Front door also looks great. Cost of refinishing the front door was a little expensive.

Doug Koban was easy to work with, organized and professional at every step of the process. He was patient in working out the details in the scope of work and he provided an estimate that helped us be sure we had not missed anything we needed. Once the contract was agreed upon, he turned the work over to his crew, Joe and Ruben, who were equally easy to work with. They adjusted their start and end times to fit our needs and generally worked from area to area through the house to accomodate us. We communicated our desire to all that we wanted to take a step up in attention to detail from our previous painting work and the crew made that their goal also. We tried to minimize any changes but even when we had to change a color, it was handled with grace and fair cost by the crew. They solicited our input on final touches right to the end such that there was no need to return for anything missed.

We contacted several painting companies with good reviews on Angie?s List. Doug Koban from CertaPro was the first to return the call, and he came by the house the following day. Within a day of his visit, he sent the estimate detailing the job. It was typed, it described in detail what was discussed, and it listed the corresponding costs in line item fashion.
Most of the other companies were out to the house in reasonable timeframes, but the estimates were scanned and sent on scratch paper that was hard to decipher or listed a sum total number with no or a vague breakdown. Some of the companies pressured us to make a decision, saying the ?schedule is filling up really fast,? etc. We were impressed by Doug?s timeliness, his honesty, and his understanding that we were gathering estimates from several companies. It turns out CertaPro came in with the lowest price, and it offered interest deferred financing which allows a year to come up with payment prior to paying any interest.
We decided on CertaPro and completed the necessary paperwork. Shortly thereafter, we received an email introducing our crew. This email included a picture so we?d recognize members of the team when they arrived. Then came a telephone call from Ossi to introduce herself over the phone and ask when they could get started. She was professional and courteous, and prior to each day would text to see if it was a good day to work, the weather conditions on our side of town, etc. At the beginning of the job, we switched the paint colors on the house and the door from our original selections, and Ossi was happy to pick up the new paint, explain the additional costs, etc.
There was quite a bit of rain the week they painted, but Ossi reassured us they would deal with any issues and not to be concerned. They delivered on this promise and then some. Following completion of the job, we walked around the house together. On our entire house, there was one minor spot behind a bush that needed to be touched up. Otherwise, it looked absolutely amazing!
Sherry Koban called me the day the work was finished to check in about how everything went. She explained that they like to give back to the community by making a donation in honor of each of their customers, and she asked us which of four organizations we wanted to support. We could not have been more impressed with this company, and we would highly recommend it to you.

We received estimates from several painters and decided to go with CertaPro primarily because of the price but also because the price included power wash. They came when they said they would and painted the exterior of our home ( 3100 square feet) within two days. We decided to maintain the same colors of our house. I was concerned about the thickness of the paint (I want the paint job to last), but was assured by the owner Doug that the Sherwin Williams "Duration" was a good quality paint and that the spray-then-brush technique was good. We were satisfied with the work.
Now it is 8 months later. I power washed our home as I have many times before this paint job and the paint on top of our rails popped up and broke off in many locations. This has never happened before. I suspected that this happened because the top of the rails were not adequately cleaned and/or sanded before it was painted over (the tops of the rails have the dirtiest and most worn paint). I emailed Doug and he came by to check out the damage. He also asked the Sherwin Williams rep to take a look. They concluded it had to do with my power washing technique but they were not able to explain why this had never happened in previous power washings or why this only occurred on top of the rails and only affected the newest paint). Doug has not responded to my latest email to explain this to me. He has offered to fix it if I pay for paint and labor which is unacceptable.
UPDATE: Doug agreed to paint over the areas that popped up without charging me. Doug and his wife came to the house to make sure I was happy with the job. Overall I am happy with the work that was done and appreciate the follow-up.

Very well. Mr Koban worked with me to ensure the price fit into our budget, but more importantly, had a crew able to complete the job quickly. Crew were hard working, professional and fast. Crew leader was easy to work with and communicated well. Mr Koban communicated very professionally throughout. Finished job quicker than expected. Also, there is a lengthy warranty with their work, giving peace of mind. Overall, from start to finish, a good first experience. Highly recommend. Thank you!

They were absolutely great. They were very fast. They cleaned up after themselves. They filled in all the nail holes. Four painters and a supervisor came for 3 days. The price was very good.
