I do not know how they stay in business. I was told that this was the only gas company that could service the area I live in. I called 7 times in 6 weeks attempting to make an appointment. Every time they took my information and told me they'd have to call me back when they knew what the schedule was and/or they were going in vacation next week (I was told they were going on vacation 3 times in 6 weeks) so they'd call back to schedule when they returned. I never received even one callback. The last attempt I made, I again was told they were going in vacation, I said ok so what date can we schedule the appointment- I'd like to get something on the books I've been trying for 6 weeks. At that point the man became very rude and defensive. Again, not sure how they have any customers, I certainly will never be one.

The office number rang busy for most of the morning but I finally got through around noon and there was only the voicemail machine to hear my dilemma. I took my chances (and left my story to hopefully invoke compassion) and hoped they had not left for the holidays already. As always, Carolina Gas Company delivered, both figuratively and physically. Both cooking and showers were back on once I saw the yellow invoice stuck in the front door. This is not the only time this company has exceeded my expectations, but now it was clear how much they take care of their customers.
Description of Work: While out of town, the hose to my BBQ grill failed and sprung a leak. We did not figure it out until the Friday before Christmas weekend. After securing the propane supply to the grill, I checked the level of our tank, and could not even see the needle. I now had to start making choices; break all commitments involving baked food or risk not having any hot water (both the oven and the water heater are propane.

I tried contacting other "major" suppliers of propane and tanks in the Mount Pleasant area to establish a relationship that would supply a tank and refills as needed for a gas fireplace I was having installed and no one else responded to messages that were left. Carolina Gas answered the phone immediately and has done so every time I have called. It took a few weeks to get a tank installed by Carolina Gas as they were temporarily out of stock at that time, but as soon as tanks were delivered to Carolina Gas, I had mine installed the next business day and filled. The tank was set on a base in the spot I desired. The tank was supposed to be checked four months later, but due to the cold winter we are having in 2013-14 I was running low in mid-January. I called and left a message and the tank was filled again within one working day. Although not the largest operation in the area, Steve runs the business professionally and has served me well.
Description of Work: Installed an exterior 80 gallon tank and filled with propane gas for a indoor fireplace that was converted to gas from wood burning. Has most recently refilled the tank.
