BTW PAINTING & REPAIR

Mr. Charles Leegette came to the house around 0930 AM, 5/7/2014 and started tearing up the soffit, fascia and sidings which needed replacement. At around 1 PM he said he was going to buy nails and other materials. He came back but took down the ladders and told no one at the house where he was going or coming back to continue his work. He did not call for five days. During those days I tried several times to contact him via his cell phones. He finally called on 5/13/2014 and said that he had a family emergency and had to go out of town. He said he will be back to do the repairs at 9 AM, 5/14/2014. I waited from 9 to 10:30 AM and no one called or came. So I left to do some errands and came back 11:00 AM to find a stranger working by the chimney. I was upset and asked the person who sent him to my house without my permission and he said Charles Leegette. I said he did not call me that he was going to send somebody to do the job. I found out that this man had climbed over my fence and had gotten my ladder and also had plugged his electrical cord behind my house without permission. I sent the man away for trespassing in my property. Charles can not be contacted through his cell at that time. When I got hold of him it was already 2 days had passed and he said if I still want him to work on my house since he already got the materials. I said yes and he said he will be back 5/17/2014. That was the last I have heard from Charles Leegette. He never picked up his two cell phones every time I called him so I just left a message and he never returned my calls. He does not have a valid address and can not be tracked.

14 months later, by the summer of 2012, the paint was peeling from the porch in large layers. It's as if the underlying wood had not been properly prepared. Large sections of the "sealed" deck and porch continue to peel away exposing bare wood to the elements. The trim paint job is unevenly applied and splotchy. The caulking is essentially non-existent and where it is done it is poorly applied. When we were finally able to reach Mr. Legett we explained our concerns. Our request that BTW Painting & Repair come to the home and review the problems was denied stating that the warranty was not in effect because the property has a new owner. Mr. Legett was very abrupt and rude and stated that he is the owner, he makes the rules and the warranty was not in effect since the ownership of the home changed. The receipt states "5 Year Warranty" and there is no mention of change of ownership, etc. BTW Painting & Repair's quality, responsiveness (in communicating with us by telephone) and professionalism is probably as poor as we have ever experienced in our 20+ years of owning homes. We would never use this company for any work on our property.

Charles was very difficult to work with. In the process of painting they broke a window. They did repair the window, but refused to paint the inside trim. So, now I have one unfinished window in my living room. I have called them several times and they won't return calls. DON'T HIRE THESE GUYS!
