Quality Home Improvement is a locally owned and operated business. We specialize in roofs, windows, vinyl siding and decking installations for your home or business. We will provide you with the same great quality work that has kept us in business for 33 years because we feel that our customers come first. While this is not a new concept, it seems to be one that a lot of contractors have forgotten.

I had a single piece of vinyl siding blow off the back of my house. Every other contractor told me the entire side would need to be replaced, but Gary was different. He reached out the same day I submitted my request and came by within a few hours to take a look. He was upfront that matching my older siding might be tricky, but promised to try.
The next day, he returned with what he needed and completed the repair quickly and professionally. I know it took some effort to track down a matching piece, but Gary went the extra mile when no one else would.
Excellent experience overall — I’ll definitely be calling him for future projects. If you’re in the Summit area of Columbia, Gary is your guy!

Gary is a man and contractor that keeps his word. That is so important to me. He helped me choose the Trex Decking, picked it up and delivered. He and his crew did an excellent job with installation. Clear-up? It is like they were never hereâ ¦awesome. I highly recommend Quality Home Improvement and will use them again!!

On the first day, he was friendly and explained that he had just finished a 50,000-dollar deck, so my 5,000 deck was No challenge. He did not send an items quote, but it had the list of the details of the job ( that was a first red flag) and my error; he had given me a list of supplies that we took to lowes and got delivered., The list was all wrong ( 2 red flags) When the project started, he saw some problems in the course, he was going to charge an extra $ 500 for putting in 4 posts plus material, and then he cut off two post... Why we didn't know when asked, he said that we had told him ( that never happened because the list of sleeves that he requested was for 13, Not 11, it was apparent he was going to charge to repair of his mistake, then he charge us $8 because the bank charges him for chasing in the check, then he charged us $ 150 a box of screw that he told us that where given to him for free. Then the sleeves of the post had to be cut in order cover the whole post for it to look nice according to him that was not what he was going to do so he was planing to charge us a extra 30 per post. X 10 post. This has been a nightmare, he extremely rude to me, even taking a very aggressive attitude when mandate to question his work

"first of all the job was labor only..i was never responsible for material..they told me the brand was trex and i gave them a list of supplies....then they changed their mind and went with another brand..which did not have 12 foot boards...not my fault..theirs..they didnt take the time to compare the two products...i had to hook up my twelve foot trailer and go all around columbia to find the pieces they were missing..that wasnt my job.they were short on screws and i offered the ones i had, so we can continue working..i guess they didnt feel that they had to pay me back..they failed to mention that the porch was sagging 2 inches in the middle had to install 4 posts and jack the whole porch up with beams.plus i tore off and redone 12 foot long steps that were destroyed by termites..and bolt the porch to the house..it was seperating from the house...my cost was 1200..but because i was already there i did all that for 500..they got a killer deal.when i finished the deckpart of the job...the material for the rails were still not there...i left and told them to contact me when they had the material there..so i can do the second part of the contract.......i tried to help as best as i could but you cant help ignorance"

This contractor started out well with the planning of the project. The quote that was given was not actual the price that I paid at the end of the job. Also, the job was not finished!!! Contractor stated the treated wood was to wet to paint at the time. He requested full payment and promised he would come back in three weeks to finish the paint. He never returned to finish job, and when I texted him he did not respond. After a few texts he responded with a promise, but I have yet to see him. This was a $5,000 dollar job, and I am very dissatisfied.

"The customer clearly did not understand that treated wood takes a month and a half to be cured. he also did not understand that when I come back to stain the screen porch I will have to be paid extra for the staining. How did he ever imagine that I would come back and stain a big screen porch for nothing. I guess you cannot please everybody. I called him back and we had an understanding that if he buys the stain I would do it for $300. When I called him to go and do the job, he did not return my call. I did so many extras for this guy, he never appreciated it. He is the only negative review I ever had."

I live out of town so it is sometimes difficult to work with a contractor you don’t know. Gary was very professional. When he did the estimate he sent pictures that matched the work I wanted done. He kept me informed and advised with additional photos after the work was completed. QHI is now my #1 contractor.
