Vacuum Cleaners
$65
Took a vacuum cleaner which was not operating properly to the Vacuum Shop. When I went back to pick it up, the employee told me that "a bearing was bad and needed to be replaced". He showed me the supposed bearing in his hand but when I reached out for it, he closed his hand and put the bearing in his pocket. The problem with the vacuum cleaner persisted and I took the vacuum cleaner to another shop in Columbia, SC. When I told the owner that the bearing had been replaced, he got an odd look on his face and informed me that this particular vacuum cleaner "did not have any bearings in it that are replaceable". He even dismantled the vacuum cleaner in my presence and there was no part inside that looked like what the employee at The Vacuum Shop had supposedly replaced. I had the vacuum repaired at the second shop and it functioned perfectly.
