Could not have gone better. What a wealth of knowledge he has of clocksmithing. I called his number around 9 am he answered. Mr. Smith asked me a few questions about the clock. told me it didn't sound to serious. 45 minutes later I showed up at his shop.. In five minutes he knew what the problem was..in just a few minutes later he had the problem solved.. You will not find a more honest clocksmith. very professional but very friendly and curtious..his service was very reasonable priced. My name is Dean Walker have lived in Charleston SC all my 59 years have been in the restaurant business for 45 years.i am an excellent judge of character. I can promise you, you can put your complete trust in him..i am so happy to have used Angies List for the first time today. To have learned about Smith Clock Repair.. Give him a call..

The first clock was done in less than a day. The hands had stopped moving. The second clock is very old and needs major work done it. That will take a bit longer.

After he repaired it, the clocked stopped working. He wanted an additional $290 to do an "overhaul" on the clock.

"On grandfather clocks, 9 out of 10 clocks can be made to run again by oiling the movement. I offer that service, and this is what I did in this case. Most times, It gets the clock running for several years more. I try to tell the customer that there is no guarantee when oiling the movement and that an overhaul may be needed to get it fully running. In some cases, as in this one, the movement is either too gummed up or too much wear has occurred for the movement to keep running and it must be overhauled or the movement replaced. If i recall correctly, I offered the owner to discount the first visit of $130 from the total overhaul cost and he chose not to repair. Had he chosen to overhaul the movement, i would have warranted my work for 1 year."

Our grandfather clock had been left in storage and had not run for a number of years. I was pretty concerned when we retrieved it that it would not work at all. I was right, it didn't stay running. the pendulum would not move, it wouldn't chime...I feared the worst!. We called Bryan who responded for a service call within 48 hours. In an hour, he had the clock fully repaired and I didn't have to mortgage the house to put it back into perfect running order. Bryan is knowledgeable, professional, and reasonable in his pricing (consider he traveled from Summerville to James Island). Love to hear the deep ticking sound and the chimes that only a grandfather clock makes. Thank you! I have already referred you to someone who has a wounded cuckoo clock. A great job at a great bargain. We will definitely pass the word to all our friends.

I feel I should have paid more for the prompt service and vast information Brian (Smith's Clock Service) provided.
I needed some glass fixed on an antique clock I had. Cost was so little.
He had it fixed before I even got home later that evening.
Brian also was nice enough to provide details about the clock, make, era, how to use it, etc. And was nice enough to exchange the brass key so I can set the clock when needed.
I have another clock that I will send his way. Truly this is first class customer service, professionalism, and what the small business owners are all about.
