Description of Work: This contractor advertises himself as an "old house specialist." This house was built in 1907 but had been remodeled. The kitchen floor was brand new. A pipe in the second floor bath burst ruining the kitchen ceiling and floor. He came, gave an estimate and was hired. He indicated the floor would have to be replaced down to the sills. Two weeks after he completed the work and was paid the kitchen tile started coming up. Closer inspection found he had NOT taken the floor down to the sills and replaced all the wood. He had merely put new luan and tile over the water soaked sub floor! Repeated calls to him were ignored. He finally agreed to install new luan and tile IF we had someone else replace the water soaked sub floor (for which he had already been paid to do). In desperation, we agreed. He STILL has not completed the luan and tile replacement even after repeated phone calls and the involvement of our attorney. This job was done in January 2008 and it is now August 2008!
