terrifying. The people at Pinpoint demonstrated a degree of
professionalism and competence that alleviated my concerns. Their
intelligent, friendly and personal attention was unmatched. They
produced a comprehensive evaluation that justified my (and my agent's)
confidence in them, and Amy Jacobsen - a principle at Pinpoint - even
had me laughing!
Highly recommended.
Tim was right on time, and began the inspection promptly. Since this was not a complete house inspection, but just a partial inspection on repairs already done, the work only took about 15 minutes. He went over the results with me, addressed my concerns. He also took the time to point out a couple of minor, non-critical items not directly related to the inspection.
He gave me an immediate copy of the inspection results, and forwarded an e-mail copy later that same afternoon. I was completely satisfied with the work, and AMAZED by his promptness and willingness to help me out on a Saturday. He did a great job for us.
In May 2012, after settlement, we corrected items that were identified on the report. Recently, we were in Columbia and I noticed, what I thought to be a recurrence of one of the items that we fixed.
I contacted Pinpoint in May 2013 , a full year after initial inspection, with the idea of having Tim inspect the area of concern.
I received an email from Amy Jo, Tim's scheduler, that informed me that as part of the original inspection I was entitled to a followup visit at no charge. Amy Jo scheduled a time and Tim was there promptly to inspect the area of our concern.
That's what I call customer service!
**Saw the response the company gave - what a joke - they can deny it all they want but we specifically asked for those things to be inspected and were told they were and were told everything was fine (in writing) now they are going to say it's not their fault because they didn't look at them - complete lies! And by the way - we did complain at the time and were told you have no liability. Believe me if we could have gone after you legally - we would have - unfortunately the State of SC protects these businesses because it is difficult to prove who broke what.
"This inspection was performed according to SC Standards of Practice. We go above and beyond requirements. In reference to the refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer & central vacuum. These are never part of an inspection, nor are they represented to be part of an inspection. The home theater is also not a requred part of any inspection. We, with the help of the homeowner, turned on and watched the home theater system and it was functioning properly at that time. The pool inspection is also not a required part of any home inspection. We took a cursory look at the pool and pump to look for leaks of which there were none. It was functioning at the time of the inspection. If there were problems with the home inspection, the buyers should have contacted us and given us a chance to respond, which we would have gladly done. We would have gone out and addressed each and every issue. We believe in customer satisfaction. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau because we do care and we do go above and beyond requirements. These issues are mostly about items that were not inspected, not represented to have been inspected, or were functioning at the time of the inspection. We can not and should not be held responsibel for these issue. We have a reputation for being very thorough and we will continue to stay up to those standards we have set. We have been in business for over 10 years and have never been found liable for issues such as these noted. Bottom line is, the member should have contacted us. Sincerely, Tim Jacobson, Inspector and Owner of PINPOINT."
