There were a couple of delays, one due to my failure to correctly time the removal of a garden shed from the property and one due to supplier delays. Since I'm employed in the construction industry as well I consider this normal and nothing out of the ordinary. Old South adjusted to the obstacle (shed issue) I placed in the middle of their plan without complaint. Mr. Harrison is very focused on sticking to budget and kept us informed of where we were as we progressed and promptly quoted the cost for a few changes we made along the way. Each member of his staff that we interacted with was clearly trained to be customer focused. They were friendly, courteous and answered questions that came up in Mr. Harrison's absence. While they were working I was busy completing my deck and rebuilding my dock. They were very cooperative coordinating with me, and even helped me clean up and haul away my debris at little or no charge.

Picked up pre-ordered plants, cleared and planted according to my drawing. Arrived on time with two workers, gave clear instructions and then returned to check he work.

When I first met with Larry to get an estimate, he detected the sound of rushing water from a burst pipe. He then assisted me in locating the break, and getting the main water valve shut off, which I greatly appreciated.
We were very pleased with the results of this project. The curving front walkway is very attractive and enhances the curb appeal. Larry is very creative and has a great sense of humor. We have received numerous compliments from neighbors and passers by on the front professional landscaping.
I made Larry aware, upfront, that I was working within a tight budget. He worked hard to insure that we stayed within budget, while still creating a beautiful look. The price was very reasonable for the projects completed. His crew was courteous and professional, and they cleaned up well.
The initial paver installation experienced a heavy rain, showing several inches of standing water. Larry immediately addressed the problem by installing a drain outlet, surrounded by decorative stones. It has worked beautifully.
The only issue I had with Larry is that he is much more responsive during the sales portion of a project, where he would respond to voicemail within hours, than he is during the service itself--when my concerns or questions could take one to two days for a response from him. However, we are very pleased overall with Larry and Old South and would definitely use him again.

I feel compelled to provide this negative review because I hired this company, in large part, based upon their Angie's List and quot;Aand quot; rating. This was not a good experience. It started out good, but ended very poorly. After summer hit, the agreed-upon things were not done and my continual pleadings and communications with the grounds crew and the owner were to no avail. Over the course of the 6 months this company was in charge, my yard and property deteriorated and became overgrown and unattractive. Relationship was terminated early due to this.

"Old South, not the customer, terminated this relationship and contract on September 7th when it became apparent that we were not going to be able satisfy the ever-broadening scope of the engagement. The monthly maintenance engagement was based on maintaining grass/shrubs, providing scheduled chemical applications and maintenance of irrigation and landscape light systems, which we performed for 6 months. During the 6 months, the customer asked us to perform additional work, which we did, at no extra charge to the customer, but at significant, unbudgeted expense to Old South. In September it became apparent that we could not do the expanded work at the original price. The customer would not pay for the additional scope, so agreed it best to part ways on an amicable basis."

to anyone. Job was not done as we agreed. Larry, the owner, was very rude. The job suppose to be finish in two or three months. It took them almost 8 months to finish. He was hardly on site. His employees didn't know what to do or what's on in on. We had to take days off from work to monitor and tell them what to do. The pond was muddy causing all my Koi fish dead. The deck was left unfinished. Nails were everywhere. The pavers was not level . He wants an extra $15,000 more that we never discuss or agree upon. We are disputes and in a law suit. We had so many proves that they did a terrible and unfinished job.

"As the Owner of Old South Landscaping I am at a loss on how to respond to this. I personally met with [member name removed] and discussed with him the scope of the project and provided him with an estimate (#1631) for $850, which included removal of the debris we created from the property. The project was to take two days and during that time I was on site a total of 5 times not including the walk through with [member name removed] at the conclusion. During the work I was contact by the site Supervisor twice, once when [member name removed] requested some extra work out of the scope of the original agreement (removal of some personal items cleaned out by the Client), which I agreed to for no additional charge and a second request from [member name removed] to clean off the roofs of the two houses. This request was denied not due to some law but the restrictions of my insurance and not having proper gear required by OSHA. After the clean up was completed, I did ask the site Supervisor to add some pine straw to a bed to make it look right but there was no charge for that. I then met with [member name removed] and provided him with an invoice (#6273) for $850 and [member name removed] paid us with his personal check (#101) for that amount. At no time did [member name removed] convey to me any unhappiness with the work but the contrary, thanking my crew for a good job."

It was very good. The owner, Larry was very professional and very friendly. They came in and did exactly what they said they were going to do and when they said they were going to do it, and they were done. It was a very good experience overall.

It went really well accept we had to have them come back to finish up on a few things like the drip line for the mulch area and needed more dirt to put over the pipes. Also need them to explain how the system works.

The project took about two months and was completed in agreed upon stages. As each part of the work was completed (the clean up, the choosing of the plants, the planting and the instructions for care), the company checked in to ensure that the project was going well. There were minor problems about the clean up phase but the company communicated about it promptly and fixed it immediately. The company billed for services as the stages of the project were completed satisfactorily. The owner was prompt in responding to all inquiries. He worked around my schedule and communicated clearly about what the plans were. He was considerate of my budget and listened closely to what I wanted. He was a pleasure to work with and checked back to be sure things met my expectations. Thanks!

They were okay. They did a good job with the lawn; cutting the grass. We had a couple of issues with them. One was them dumping the grass on the street, but I spoke with them about that and it was cleared. There was no issue after that. The second was that the owner was hard to reach sometimes when I wanted some issues addressed with him, so I would always had to leave messages. Their punctuality was good. I would use them again.

I was very happy with the work Larry and his crew did. I would highly recommend them. The front yard was a mess with all the tree roots. They removed them and put in topsoil and laid the sod. They had the tree stumps in the back ground since they were going to be in a natural area. They put a lot of effort into the preparation of the yard and I am very happy with the way the yard looks. They even did an extra step by installing a new sprinkler head to provide better coverage. Larry stopped by several times to check on things and offered some good advice on the project. His crew was very professional and I could tell they took a lot of pride in their work. My neighbours are now coming by to compliment me on how good the yard looks. Thanks for a job well done.

They are wonderful and have been wonderful. The workers who come out are wonderful too. They are motivated and they leave the yard clean; they are self-starters. They do exactly what they are going to say and what I have contracted them for. The estimate has come right in and I pay by the estimate. They are great. I would use their services again in the future. The owner is even worried about my timer being sent. He wants to come out and double check for me. They are really good.

No doubt that this company is worth of trust and dependability. Larry and his workers are fully professional when it comes to yard work. After they completed grading our yards they appreciated in looks, 10 folds. The work was performed not only well done but also at a fast pace.
