They are very, very busy, but when they do respond, you definitely get a response even though their busy. Based on when they told me they would get it, which was not right away. They did follow through. They were there when they said they would be there, so I would say very punctual. I just was amazed all the way through, the people who dug the hole to the management. Definitely, they are all very good, very nice.
I do my own maintenance. They would do maintenance, I think they?d do maintenance, I honestly can?t say. I know that if I had a problem as a new pool owner, they were responsive to that, but I don?t know if they actually offer pool maintenance. Actually, I had an issue with the liner and we never could figure out what it was, so the manufacture just said replace it free. So, they came out and replaced it for free and didn?t charge me for the install. I was kind of in a time restraint or something, and I mean from the time they dug it till they started to put water in it was one week. They hustled, they really were very, very good.
9-18-14 Griffin Pools came to our home and agreed to install a swimming pool. I had researched this business to make sure they were licensed & bonded with no judgments against them. I ask the salesman Rick Potter if background checks were made & he said yes. No one with a conviction would be allowed on our property. We agreed & Griffin started the process. The salesman told me and wrote on our contract to call "Bobby" Caughman (James Robert Caughman) of Lexington SC and he would come out to look at the job to do the finish work. Also another Griffin worker Brian, pool installer supervisor, told me to call "Bobby". After now being endorsed by two Griffin Pool representatives, this led me to believe that "Bobby" was a preferred contractor of Griffin Pools. I called "Bobby" and he came out and gathered the requirements, made recommendations and a high-level cost. Asked again about his relationship with Griffin Pools, he stated that they use him ALL the time to complete their work so that they can focus on installing pools, their main area of expertise. I told him to go ahead and do the work. Bobby requested a $5000 deposit of 13,700 job, which we gave to him. Block arrived at our house a few days later and work started as Griffin dug our pool. When the Griffin portion of the concrete was poured on Tue, Bobby came by and said the rest of the concrete would be poured on that Friday, but.........he needed more money. We gave him another $3775. No concrete came on that Friday, 10-24-14, nor any day after that. The wall wasn't finished. The proper foundation wasn't placed, no drain, wrong type of stone, improper sealant, and stones not overlapped. Four contractors have told us the wall is unsafe, unrepairable and had to be removed. A constructional engineer told us that all of the above and it was devaluing to our home as well. Bobby walked away from this job, no further work and $8775 of our money that we are making monthly payments on. Bobby then sent us an "updated" bogus bill of the $9000 dollars of work that he had done( which was totally made up charges). I have contacted Griffin pools many times and they claim no responsibility. We learned that Bobby has a criminal record and someone that we would have never been allowed on our property. Now Griffin Pool manager Rob Bowers states that they have no affiliation with Bobby Caughman and would not do anything to help us. I have two forms of documentation to prove that Griffin pool asked us to call this man to do the required finish work. One on the estimate of pool installation costs and the other an email from the salesman Rick Potter. I would gladly produce copies of either document. Customers beware! I spent over 35,000.00 dollars with Griffin Pools and now they claim no responsibility. I have a huge mess in my back yard, thousands of dollars to repair it, torn up irrigation system, engineering fees and $8775 our of our pocket.
