Banfield offers a wellness plan program where we pay a set fee each month for preventative care. This includes vaccines, heartworm tests, and other screenings. We also get free and quot;urgent careand quot; office visits; however, the clinic is perpetually understaffed so getting an appointment sooner than three or four days out is difficult. They also claim to have drop-off appointments, but those are extremely limited as well.
Other Banfield locations are much more accessible and service-oriented than the Lexington one. We've used three and this is the only one that has been a disappointment. The clinic is a revolving door for vets, techs, and client service coordinators. There is something going on at this location because turnover is a real issue. Despite losing the convenience of spreading the cost over the entire year, we'll be going somewhere where the vets can get to know our pets instead of having a new vet every visit.

I have 3 kids (2 cats and 1 dog) all on the wellness plans offered there. When you first price them, they do appear a little expensive, but when you compare the list of services to other vet clinics, they prices are actually less. To explain, I started with Banfield on Harbison just over 7 years ago and they were a wonderful caring group of Dr.'s who just adore animals and truly treat them like their own. I have never had a problem with any of their services or advice they have given. After the Lexington location opened, I switched to that hospital just due to location and a shorter drive. I have found the staff and Dr.'s to be professional, compassionate and knowledgeable with no problems. All visits are included in the plan, so when one of them gets sick or hurts a paw, it doesn't cost any extra to have them looked at. In fact, staff suggests bringing them in and quot;just to be safeand quot; and do not try to sell unnecessary tests or medications. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff and especially the Dr.'s, who genuinely seem to care more about the pet than making money off of you. Compared with other clinics, the list of services performed is much more extensive, and they offer more services and vaccines than many. Combined together, I often joke that my furry kids have better medical care than I do. Since they get seen regularly, and if there are any and quot;emergenciesand quot; the cost of the care there is actually cheaper than many other clinics and I believe more thorough. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a new vet or to start with them if you are adopting a new family member.

I saw Dr Troy Schlines there. He took care of my dog. He was wonderful. He tried everything he could but my dog died. He was excellent. I only saw him. I had a long history with him. My pet was seriously ill from a long time. He understood her medical needs and the prescriptions she needed. It’s easier to go to your own doctor; they know you better. The office was always clean. The people were always friendly. Everything was fine; it’s just that I always saw Dr Schlines. There were a number of people who, moved to different place when he moved from there. I have heard people say that they all liked him. There was a woman who came from Olympia. He is a good vet. I would give him an A plus for professionalism. I would not go there again as I don't have another pet. Even if I have one, I will not go because the doctor is not there. He got promoted and has gone from there. You can't get a lot of information after someone's moved. Even if he is not there, I know the clinic would be a good one to go to. He was very caring.
