Mr. Mack told us he could build our patio within a week. It actually took 12 weeks and we had to threaten to fire him in order to get him to complete the job. We had to have the termite treatment done three times because he was so slow pouring cement over the fill dirt; although he had sunny days in which to work, he repeatedly failed to show up before it rained. Throughout the 12 weeks, Mr. Mack repeatedly said he would be here but didn't show up, or he would come and do a little work and not return. He told us he would lay the pavers himself, but most of them were laid by someone he hired. We heard excuse after excuse about why he couldn't come, and finally we consulted a lawyer who told us we could break the contract because of negligence and failure to perform. We then told Mr. Mack he had until the day before Thanksgiving to finish the job. He came out two days before Thanksgiving, laid the remaining pavers, and grouted the whole patio. The next day he halfway cleaned and sealed it. We have had to hire someone else to redo the cleaning and sealing. All in all, he took 12 weeks to do a job he said he could complete in a week. We are not happy with the results.
