Wes did a great job. He was very thorough and explained everything that needed to be done and was efficient fixing the problem. The only thing I would improve on is the $100 service fee for after hours. If you are hired for the job the $100 should be changed to $50.

This is our second job with Carter Quality Plumbing, and they did an excellent job on both. This repair was fairly simple. Wes, the technician, arrived even earlier than they had promised (and I received a call 20 minutes prior to his arrival to inform me of this). From the get-go, he was personable and professional. Once he determined that the leak occurred in a part that might be covered by warranty, he gave me the option of ordering a replacement part from the manufacturer or having him put in a replacement part from his truck. I opted for the replacement, and he fixed it in just a few minutes, with no problems. He left the old part in order for me to be able to call the manufacturer and obtain a replacement part under warranty, in case this happens again. He did a super job! We will use them for any future needs that we have. These folks are excellent. I recommend them without reservation!

We are selling our house and the inspection report pointed out a few plumbing issues that needed to be resolved. We called Carter Quality Plumbing and we were able to schedule an appointment the same day. Stuart arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He looked over the list of projects and gave us fair estimates on each one. He was able to make repairs on the spot and he was very knowledgeable and professional. We will definitely use Carter Quality Plumbing in the future.

My insinkerator was not working. A small water glass had fallen into the insinkerator and my daughter turned it on, not knowing it had fallen in. I called on a Friday morning around 10 and was given a 4 to 6pm time frame. I was also told that they would call me before to let me know when someone was on the way. Marshall and Drew introduced themselves and arrived punctually. They put covers on their shoes. Marshall could see the glass fragments in the insinkerator and I was given options on how to fix the problem. I went with the easiest. Get the shopvac and try to clean out the fragments and obstruction that way. I was lucky. That worked. Marshall showed me how to unscrew the insinkerator if it should ever get stuck again and he also showed me the reset button. After all of that, they did not charge me and I am very happy with the service. We will definitely use Carter Quality again for all our plumbing needs.

First, an observation about price: I didn't give that category a letter grade, because I regularly use Carter and have no standard for comparison. We paid a one-time fee to qualify for discounts for life in their Diamond Club, so we get a little break that way. Here's how the work went: 1) Our kitchen sink clogged on a Sunday night, belching black gunk. I called, and a technician came out that evening and cleaned the line ($270). He went down to the crawlspace to make sure his augur had not damaged any pipes and came back with pictures fit for a plumber's horror movie: Rust was flaking off our 50-year-old, cast iron pipes, which had already required two cleaning procedures in less than five years, and they were generally in sore shape. He recommended re-plumbing the crawlspace -- kitchen pipes, washer, wet bar and downstairs half-bathroom -- with PVC. As we expect to be in the house another 20 years, we said yes. 2) He and another plumber were back two days later to do the work under the house ($2100). All seems to have gone well. We had an HVAC technician down there a few weeks later doing a regular check on our system, and he said everything was clean and dry. 3) About three days after the crawlspace re-plumbing, I found a small puddle on my kitchen counter. It was dripping from the space between two kitchen cabinets that were directly under my upstairs bathtub. I called Carter, and a technician recommended that I caulk around the tub fixtures in order to prevent any splashback water from getting into the wall and leaking. I did so, appreciating the free suggestion, and there were no puddles for two days -- but then, suddenly, the leak recurred. I had Carter come out the next day, and the same plumber (Derrick, if I am spelling his name right, a good guy) cut into the drywall in the room adjacent to the bathroom and showed me the leak. As the bathroom hardware was all 50 years old, he recommended I go to a hardware store and buy a whole new set. I did, and he and a partner came back two days later -- a weekend intervened, causing a slight delay, but we have another shower -- to install the hardware and fix the leak. The $870 fee included the construction of a four-sided panel in the wall. Three of the white wooden sides (which look like framing around the door to the room) are fixed; the top one has a handle that allows us to lift it out of place. So rather than replace the sheetrock and have the room painted, we approved this 24-inch-by-24-inch door, which looks good. If we ever have another problem, we'll slide up the top panel and have instant access to the back of the shower and tub. Finally, the house is dry!

Super impressed with this company. They responded fast, sent texts with a picture of the worker who will be fixing our problem and even called to tell me they are on their way. Superior customer service. They were on time and worked quickly so we can have water again flowing to the house. Seriously, the best company I have ever hired for plumbing. These guys are great! Arrived promptly to review the project with me and provide an estimate. Offered alternative solution that would not tear up my newly installed driveway from 2 years ago. They really looked at everything from the customer's point of view including the clean up and replacing of my sod where the had to trench through my yard. If you ever need a reliable, honest, hard working, reasonably priced and very customer friendly plumber you could do no better than Carter Quality Plumbing in Lancaster, SC!!

We should have said no to the, what we considered to be exorbitant price. But we were kinda desperate. The fridge was delivered and because of the old hookup the guys were not able to install. So they left it on the front porch til we got a plumber. We just thought it was too much.

I called in the morning and got an appointment the same afternoon. Plumber arrived on time and quickly assessed the situation and explained what had to be done and the estimated cost. He proceeded to do the repairs and the quality of the work was excellent. What a surprise to get such a rapid and professional response.

These guys...these guys!! What great service! We had a plumbing emergency at around 7:30 at night. I called them, and they sent Joseph, an excellent plumber, right over. He worked efficiently to locate a leaky pipe in the wall, took care of the problem quickly and at an excellent price. He was meticulous in his work - took care to clean up after he finished the repair. He told us what, in his opinion, had caused the leak, and informed us (without trying to upsell us on anything) what we might need to do in the future to prevent it from re-occurring. If there's an upside to the leak (and admittedly it's hard to find an upside), it's that we feel like we've found an excellent, reliable, professional plumber.
