The job was started when I was away at work and was not notified that the job started. This was a problem for me because I had not signed into a contract with Fal-Con and Frank Jr. When I arrived home the driveway was dug up and my existing fence was torn down. Usually I would stop the job and call the police but he was referred to by someone I respected. So I let the work continue but asked F Lauro Jr. for his business licence and insurance. I also wanted to see the permits for the driveway, fence and foundation. The next day work continued and I was told that we did not need permits for the driveway. I assumed too much that the other permits were applied for. The job continued and the problems with the work started to show. First and most frustrating was the driveway. It was supposed to be 12' wide. However Fal-Con must have forgotten their measuring tape because it was 5" short. Furthermore the path for the brickwork was poured 4" shorter than the 36" it was designed to be. This was a mistake that could not be corrected. I also found three 5 gallon buckets of extra oyster shell that was not used and needed to be because the oyster shell was inconsistent. Then the drainage was not done well because a large puddle has formed at the end of the driveway every time it rains and it leaves a stain. Second was the fence posts were not straight and were wobbling. Fal-con attempted to fix the problem 3 times however it did not fix the issue and they still lean. One month after the gates were build they would not swing because they had sagged. One afternoon when I got home from work I watched the contractors cut a fence post with a chainsaw. Not a great cut. I was not pleased with the quality of work. The foundation was another issue. I was told it would be to code and Frank explained the way it should be done. When the work was being done it looked like it was not the way he explained it and I asked about it. He said they were not done yet and it would be done correctly. After the work was completed I asked about the permits and final inspections. However I found out that the permits were not pulled and so I stopped the job. After asking Fal-Con to correct the problems I was met with threats. Then court which is not fun for anyone. The work was rushed, done poorly and with no quality, and not to spec. I would not use this home remodeling / construction contractor again or recommend them to anyone else.
Description of Work: I hired Fal-Con, F Lauro Jr., to rebuild a fence / gates (One section was 8' and the other was 6'), pour a concrete driveway (12' wide and a 36" walk foundation for later brick work) and fix a foundation problem.
