Boxer missed major issues with a house I bought that I found when it was too late. I would not use this company ever again or recommend them to anyone else. The items that were missed ended up costing me over $10,000 to correct.
Response from BOXER HOME INSPECTION
"As the owner and sole operator of Boxer Home Inspection I would be happy to respond to the member's complaint. Let me begin with the inaccuracies. Member writes the work was completed June, 2008 when I inspected the home May 21, 2007. My reports are time and date stamped and archived by a third party. The member can still view the report either for the first time or whenever he desires for up to 5 years with the password that was provided by the third party. Member claims the home was built in 2008 when in fact it was built around 1996. The member grades my Responsiveness a C even though the report was posted on line the same day of the inspection just as I advertise. The member assigns an A to my Professionalism and Punctuality even though we have not met and he did not attend the inspection. He made these assumptions the same way he derived his negative comments.... without basis. The member said he spent out of pocket to make repairs. Why did he fail to call me or the Realtor about any issues? I spoke with the Realtor and he knew nothing about any problems. This post is the only communication the member had with me about anything. I invite the member to read all of the report including the comments not just the summary. He will find that I provided commentary with high resolution pictures which required his action. I cannot be responsible for his failure to act over two years ago. There are many things that are out of my control and the member may have unrealistic expectations. He could have had the seller make repairs or walked away from the home. I provided him a proper and accurate inspection. I ask all Angie's List members to view the member's complaint with skepticism. I would never treat a client the way the member has treated me and my reputation. Thank You"

Very professional and very knowledgable (especially when it comes to repair costs). Great price.

Thought we had a mold problem under the house. I just needed a crawl space inspection-I did not want the full inspection. Called Mike after checking Angie's List. He called back right away. Arranged for next day meeting. Did the inspection. Called me with a report. Sent full E report with lots of GOOD pictures by e-mail. Quick, courteous, professional, friendly. This single transaction made the price of Angie's List worth the cost for the whole year. STRONGLY recommend this inspector. You will not be disappointed!

I have dealt with Michael McCabe. I did not list a price because every home is different, but he lists prices on his web site. He is very knowledgeable and great to work with. I would use him again in the future and recommend him to others.

Michael was extremely professional throughout. He answered all of our questions and paid attention to areas that were either the most critical or were of most concern to us. He was very knowledgeable of best practices as well as local code and was able to properly and clearly explain all item identified in the inspection.

I know that many times a home inspector simply states general things wrong and says "recommend qualified electrician inspect" or "recommend structural engineer inspect" to cast away any blame. Mike not only told me exactly what was wrong, but how much concern I should have over it and the correct way to rectify the problems. The same things the other guys would have told me, but without the second charge. Anyone can look at stuff and say it's probably wrong, you need to hire and expert. Boxer actually earned their fee and told me what was wrong. I like real answers!

It went wonderful! Like I said, he was there on time (early), was very thorough in his work, explained things very well, delivered a concise report, and was a delight to have in my home.
