They performed the service and everything went as expected.  They were very informative and answered all of our questions.

Brent was on time, professional, neat,explained everything in understandable terms, inspected/repaired in a timely manner-wonderful service at a reasonable price!

Showed up Saturday at time he told me he would, talked us thru each part, introduced workers to us, came back on Monday to inspect work and receive payment. Very helpful and courteous.

I called because the fan was not working on my outside unit. I was told they would try to get me in today and that they would call me back to confirm. I received a call back within an hour to let me know they would be here between 12 and 2. They called again when they were on the way. Brent was on time and very professional. The price was as quoted including a discount for being an Angie's List Member. I will definitely call them again and will recommend them to friends and family.

I can not say enough about this company. First and foremost, Mr. Thompson
(owner of the the business) came to our home to give us an estimate the
day after we contacted his office. He was on time and VERY
professional. After an extensive discussion about our needs &
budget, he gave us a quote for the two Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless A/C units we wound up purchasing. He
also informed us that these units qualified for a rebate from SCE&G
and a federal tax rebate (which we were not aware of). After
interviewing several other HVAC contractors, we decided to go with
Panther Heating & Air.  On the day of the install, Mr. Thompson and
his crew arrived at the time promised. They were efficient, professional
and very respectful of our home & time. The service technicians who
entered our home wore booties over their shoes so as not to track in
dirt. They also cleaned up after themselves. These gentlemen arrived at 8
in the morning and worked until after 5, taking a very short lunch
break. Did I mention this was on a VERY hot day? They managed to install
the two units in one day and before leaving, the technicians showed us
how to operate the units and explained what we would need to do to
maintain them. The following day, a lady from the office called to make
sure everything was to our satisfaction. She also offered to fill out
the rebate information for SCE&G and mail it for us! Three weeks
later, our rebate check arrived. In short, this was a fabulous experience. Everything was done as promised and there were no surprises. I wish all contractors behaved in this manner! Kudos to Panther Heating and Air.

Mr. Thompson did a thorough assessment of needs and was completely  professional.

I called Joan Monday about 11:00 and told her that we had been using space heaters due to our furnace only operating in emergency heat mode.  While we had heat when using the furnace; the electric charge was excessive and we chose to just use space heat until we could get someone in who knew how to fix it.  She had Gene come out that afternoon.  We were having very warm weather that week.  Gene got here at 4:00 when Joan had said he would.  I explained that we had another company out to look at it at the end of last winter, but they did not seem to really know what they were doing and we decided not to let the other company work on our system.  Gene took his time to try to figure out why we were having a problem.  He determined that both units were operating and that the system need to be rewired to operate properly.  Since I had a late appointment, Gene told me he would need to come back to wire the system when it was lighter outside and would let me know when they could schedule it.  I told him my schedule was flexible and since it was warm, there was no hurry.  Before he left, he gave me a cost estimate.  The next day was fairly full scheduled, and would allow them to come back out, but not as much time as they might need if there were any other problems with the unit.  Wednesday morning Gene and John arrived at 8:45 and had my system rewired in about 1 1/2 hours.  John talked to me about the expected life of our system and options for when we were ready to replace it. Two other heating and air companies have serviced our system, and neither of them noticed that the heat pump was only wired to work in the summer!  I'm looking forward to getting much lower electric bills in the future.  Thanks to Angie's List, I saved $25 off the regular price.

They were supposed to get back with me on the price of a new circuit board for my AC and then a time and date to replace it.  I’m still waiting.

I had a bad motor in my air conditioning unit.  They recommended me to either replace the entire unit or just replace the motor.  They did diagnose the problem correctly.  They came out pretty promptly, but I decided not to get the work done by them.  I was able to get the work done less expensively by some other company.  I would use their service in the future.

They did a good job in finding the issue and repaired it.. 

They are a good company. We will use them again because they are honest, came when they said (reliable) and charge a fair price.  We also like using local businesses if we can.

Called Panther Monday morning @8:15am.   Told them I had no cool air.   They sent out a tech by 10:30am.  While outside, he found that ants had settled in the contactor and corroded it so that it was not closing.   He replaced this with a new 30A contactor, sprayed the small box with insecticide and got the system cooling before noon.  Fast, accurate service at a good price.

These are two situations in one review. 1) My first experience with Panther Air was pretty good, that's why I invited them back to my house.  They are a very small company, but they are very honest people.  Before I bought my house, I had the AC and heating inspected.  Gene arrived and started inspecting to the units.  He went into my crawlspace and found several issues that the seller would need to repair.  Several of these were indirectly related to AC and heating units.  He gave very sound and detailed advice on the units and other advice on the house.  Gene was very honest and I could tell he was here to help.  2) Second experience was to get them to do a tune up and clean my AC unit.  Gene came out, only to find out there was no electricity going to my unit.  So I had to re-schedule and get my electrician out to fix the issue.  I re-scheduled and John came to do a tune up to my unit.  John was the boss and I could tell that he was very thorough.  For $95 he spent about I'd say 1.5-2 hours cleaning my unit from inside to outside.  He then went into the house to check to see if everything was ok.  He was very very thorough.  I even asked him where my air filter was, so he crawled into my crawlspace with me to show it to me, when he didn't even have to do that. Now one week later, my AC was pumping out hot air, so I called Panther Air after hours, and they called me right back out the next day and pumped 7 lbs of freon into my system.  So apparently there could be an issue with my furnace not pumping the freon or a leak., which I'll find out in the next few weeks, but I'm glad they came out fast to fix it.  Whatever the problem was the fact they came out the next day, and didn't charge me was great. They are a very honest in how they deal with you, and aren't out to rip you off, so I'm not surprised they are moving to the top of Angie'slist.  I'd highly recommend that you give them a try if you're looking into a Heating And AC company that is honest, personable, and knowledgeable.

I have been using them for about 15 years.  They send someone out quickly whenever I call.  They are very good at diagnosing what they problems are with my system.  They don?t have to come back and do anything again because they always do good work.  Their price is competitive.

I would definitely recommend Panther Air to anyone looking for a good heating and air conditioning service company.
