Previously gave Robert and his crew an A rating for an installation of heating and air unit. Since my review, we had an inspection done on our house and were advised that the unit was installed too close to an existing unit and that it would need to be moved. Current heating and air company can barely get in to service the unit. Cost to move the unit and redo some of the duct work that Robert and his crew did $2000. We have contacted Robert numerous times to fix the issue. He has not returned to fix it, always having anexcuse. Horizon is no longer in business, but Robert Stomm was the owner and is said to be still operating in the area. BEWARE,

The Goodman unit quality was fine, but the installation was not done properly. The set-line was sized for 13SEER, but the owner, Robb Stromm, insisted that installing a 16 SEER unit using the 3/4 inch line was acceptable. Later found out from Goodman that since the installation was not done following their specificaion calling for at least a 7/8 inch line, the warranty may be void on the equipment, and at best the efficiency would not be achieved. Later found the condensate line was leaking. The horizontal air handler needed to be raised an inch to take the weight of the unit off the condensate line. The inlet and outlet plenum ducts should have been replaced. The plenum dimensions of were larger air handler (original was a 3 TON unit). Instead the old plenums were cobbled with aluminum duct tape. Avout 25% of the outlet flow is blocked by the outlet plenum installation. Also, found that the bypass valve for the zoned system was not operating properly. The installer never checked this part of the system operation. To add to the dissatisfaction with the installation, the owner has not responed to numerous messages and emails to follow-up on the installation. A service contract was sold with the unit and there has been no response to attempts to get the owner to service the unit. Overall, this was a big mistake to use a small independent contractor for HVAC replacement. I should have gone with the larger compainies that would honor their contract and be around a year later to provide service.

Good experience, Robert came out and provided us with an estimate. Came and installed unit promptly. Took a little longer than expected for the installation, but it was done by the end of the day. They did clean up after themselves, but could have done a slightly better job. Had one issue with a leak, but they came out promptly and it was a simple fix. No problems since and the unit runs very quietly.

Our Heil gas pack was 20 years old and was requiring repair more and more frequently. It became apparent that we were operating on borrowed time, so we came to the conclusion that it was time to replace the entire unit... no cheap endeavor by any stretch. After obtaining estimates from several companies, including the company with which we had a current service contract, we went with Robert at Horizon Heating and Air. Whereas most companies, when called for service, will give you a three to five hour window, Robert's window was thirty minutes, and he was prompt and on time. When he conducted his evaluation of our ancient gas pack, he took the extra step to clean the coils and flush out a clogged drain line, at no charge. We had hired another company to perform and quot;twice annual maintenanceand quot; and they had been out the week before and had not done this, only made recommendations that this be done. We were highly impressed with Robert's professionalism and easy manner and we got no feeling that he was trying to sell us a product we didn't need. His quote for full system replacement was $500 less than the next lowest bid and the combination of his price and his service won us over as customers. We needed the unit replaced as soon as possible, but had scheduled a vacation. Robert installed the unit on the morning we were returning and finished 15 minutes before we got home. We returned home to a new, trustworthy unit and felt good about the price. We were extremely pleased with our experience with Robert at Horizon Heating and Air and are pleased to be his customers.
