I had talked to them before, I felt that they knew what they were doing and their prices were good.  Overall everything was done very well and everything was fine.

I had a positive past experience with this company so I gave them another shot. The price was not very competitive but since I had a good first experience I figured it was worth the money. The crew was very sloppy and unprofessional. (There was a lot of smoking and chatting while my sod was busy dying in the summer sun.) When the owner was around he was very antagonistic of his crew in front of them and the resentment was palpable, so they had no incentive to do a nice job. The invoices for the work kept coming. I was overcharged for things, charged again for things I had been charged for previously and he actually tried to bill me for things he "wanted" to do for me but hadn't actually done. I was being "nickled and dimed" to death. (They had to move a railroad tie back so they could access the back yard and he charged me to put it back.) The one year guarantee is not as it seems, as you will still have to pay for removal and replanting, just not the actual shrub/tree itself. Half of what was planted last year is not coming back and I'm not paying him to come back and doing a slack job again, no matter if I do get a "free" plant.
