Three or four electricians I called never returned my message. One said he would stop by to give us an estimate, but never showed up. May Electric had given us a date about 10 days out, but they were the only company that seemed willing to accept the work. Several of our neighbors had recommended them, but they all did say they were more expensive than most. We made the appointment, and the receptionist did tell us their rates on the phone, so we knew what to expect. We were willing to pay the additional cost in order to get our light fixed and take the plastic garbage bag off of it!
The technicians showed up exactly on time, and worked very systematically to confirm, diagnose, and fix the problem. He had to test a number of possible causes, so it took some time. He worked quickly but was very thorough. We asked him to re-install the outside light fixtures while he was here, and he graciously did that for us. The cost was exactly what we expected based on what the receptionist had told us. Based on our limited knowledge of electrician rates here, it was perhaps 10-15% more than another electrician might have charged. However, May Electric told us that up front, they committed to a date and came when they said they would, and the technician did a good job taking care of the problem. We would use them again.

The service technician showed up on time, surveyed the work and provided a quote on the spot. I thought the price was reasonable, so they performed the work immediately, working steadily through early afternoon without a break for lunch. etc. The electrician was very personable and from what I could see, the quality of the work was very good. The electrician also gave me some advice for a small job I felt comfortable doing.
I did discoverer a few days later that two of the new lights installed were not hooked into the on/off switch and stayed on constantly. I contacted Randy May Elec., and they showed up the next business day to correct that minor problem. I received the invoice and it was exactly as quoted - no charge for the return visit to correct the wiring of the two lights. I'll definitely use them again.

"This customer Literally Threatened our Company with a Bad Review on Angie’s List, if we did not reduce his bill, hence this slanderous Review. There are numerous statements made in this review that are false, too many to count. We understand that sometimes a job does not always go as anticipated. In this situation, the CAT5 wire that was purchased new had defects. When we were informed there was a problem, we sent 2 men to the home, removed the CAT5 wire we previously installed, and ran new CAT5 wire, which fixed the problem. We did not charge for the return trip, which took 2 men, over 2 1/2 hours. Our customer’s satisfaction is our Top Priority. When a problem is brought to our attention, we strive to resolve the situation in a prompt and efficient manner. We have been in business for over 35 years, and treat all of our customers how they would like to be treated. The fact that person felt it necessary to post such negative, false content is disappointing, after we rectified the situation in a professional , prompt manner, at NO Charge. It is a shame that some people do not support local small businesses in this economy… Especially, when the issue was resolved to their satisfaction."
