LE COOKERY OF HILTON HEAD

Disinterested employees, flighty owner, inconsistent hours and overpriced items. Too many other reputable places on the Island to patronize than spend your money here. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

While the kitchen store, LeCookery, is well appointed with higher end kitchenware, porcelains, dishes, and gadgets, I find there to be a huge disconnect between the owner, employees, and the quality of care they provide others. I have been in that store numerous times, and I always find I am the one to search for a needed item. The staff is slow to offer assistance; in particular, the owner seems disorganized and forgetful. The hours posted are loosely held and one has only to show up 20 minutes before closing time, to find the shop has already turned their lights off and locked the door. Even those with "banker's hours" hold themselves accountable to publicized time constraints in their workday. In addition, I recently witnessed the owner handle a personnel matter in a most unprofessional fashion slandering the employee with false accusations and fabrications. I LOVE kitchen stores and unique gift shops, but I can tell you that LeCookery will no longer receive any business from me. In turn, I would NOT recommend the store to my friends or family. LeCookery could learn a thing or two from a store such as Williams Sonoma.
