We have a vacation unit, with only a few days notice, they were able to come and install a new unit on a Saturday for a reasonable price. One of the mechanics caught a shard of metal in his eye. Despite our protest to go to the doctor, he insisted on staying and finishing the job, that's old school! Overall, we are happy with the service, the staff, and the product.

very prompt response to all around. From request of quote to install date. I was on a very tight schedule to which was met. Others couldn't even get me a written quote in time. glad I joined Angies list to get me hooked up with a known good company. I am from out of state. I was onsite for only a week. Everything was done in the time allowed me. Only somewhat negative experience was the follow up service tech they sent out for a 3 day follow up. Just kinda walked in like he was in a active job site. Left the breaker to my other AC unit off after he left causing me quite a bit of confusion when my other AC did not work. Finally found the breaker was left off.

They're very honest. They were so honest with the price and they were pretty good with price. They were honest about the product. They're priced well. They're very knowledgeable about the whole industry. We're actually going to use them again in the future.

Great job and very pleased. We'll have them do our service work going forward.

The current system was 12 years old , and past repair. We called three firms for bids, and selected this firm based on NATE certified training, winner of 2013 Best of Bluffton , Angie's List reviews, and price competitiveness.. Steve came out and gave us a written detailed bid, and answered all our questions about our entire HVAC system. Then, Dean and his crew installed the unit a few days later. Again, this team was efficent, tidy, and answered all questions about operating the new system. Next day, Harold came over and did a full system test on the new unit, and made sure we had no additional questions. Harold also figured out what was wrong with another HVAC system we have. Our prior HVAC company had looked at this unit a few times, and never fixed it properly. The next week, Harold came back with the correct parts and repaired the unit. We also signed up for semi annual maintenance contract on all the HVAC units in our home, We can't say enough great things about the honest answers given, quality of service, and professional team!

Every step from the technician who made the proposal, to the installers and to the quality control person sent the day after the installation went flawlessly.   I did send an evaluation re Gochnauer  rating at an earlier date.

They gave us a very good deal and I was very happy with them. They were very thorough. They were up in the attic checking everything. There's no cost for the last service.

It was exceptional - on time, professional workmanship and fair price (best of three estimates).  The two mechanical specialist were all business (with a personality) and did the job in the time frame expected.  Would absolutely recommend this company.

They were pretty straight forward on the necessary repairs and replacement and did not try to oversell me on extensive duct work, instead opting to recommend a good duct cleaning company.  They were a little slow on follow up and insisted on full payment prior to getting a couple of kinks worked out, but overall the experience (especially for Hilton Head) was good. Shortly after moving into our home in July we experienced a AC failure of the main 5 ton zone and the temperatures soared while we were dealing with the move in activities. We checked Angie's List and the Rose Hill Plantation websites and a few contacts for recommended HVAC contractors since we were not thrilled with the one we used at our Rose Hill Property. We contacted two from Angie's List. The first one which I won't name since they do in fact have a good reputation (some neighbors swear by them) came out and delivered the news that the exterior coil had been "rigged" via soldering to pass inspection and we'd need a completely new system given the 7 year age of the units. This turned out to be accurate, but I didn't like the demeanor of the service tech and felt like I was being "sold." We got a bid from them and their Carrier line of equipment turned out to be more expensive than a superior Trane system bid from Gochnauer
Now the Gochnauer experience. The tech from Gochnauer came out the evening of the next day, on short notice really, and was a very affable guy who went to work diagnosing the system from the exterior. He too determined in short order that the exterior coil had been tampered with and we had ZERO refrigerant left in the system. He felt bad delivering the news, and went on the explain our options, the costs, and pros and cons of each.  His demeanor was nice and affable as mentioned, he was patient, honest, and wasn't pushing hard one way or the other. He allowed me to determine which approach and the risk factors I was willing to accept based upon his observations.  It was evident he knew his trade well, and wasn't motivated by a commission plan. We received a range of bids from them within a couple of days for different efficiency system configurations, and the air cleaners we had inquired about. Due to Trane's rebate program we were able to get a very high efficiency system for less than the mid-tier system. They installed it all the next Saturday as we were suffering. The installation team was HIGHLY professional, and courteous too. They wore shoe booties in the house, put down drop cloths in the path of work to the attic, they picked up their debris, and left a clean work site in the attic, inside and outside. The installation work was very well done, not sloppy. A quality control tech came out 2 days later to inspect the work and instruct us on the high end thermostat. Then a different tech came out about a week later to perform a thorough maintenance and cleaning of the other two zones. He was here for at least 3.5 hours or more as the systems hadn't been serviced in a while and were very dirty. Once again, affable, professional and polite. Explained everything, what he found, what they would do at the next 6 month service interval, etc. and left detailed records with me and the same would go into their files at the office.
Long story short, I am "blown away" at how impressed I am with this HVAC company. Best I have ever encountered in 4 states. Some of the best most experienced techs in the area, they are happy to be with Gochnauer, their attitude transcends to the customer experience, and they were not the most expensive bidder. BTW, the manager, office staff, and maintenance scheduler are also really fine people. I am not a push over and border line OCD, so I have high expectations of the caliber of work I expect to receive for a fair price. Contractors that take serious pride in their workmanship and professionalism are increasingly harder to find. Gochnauer exceeded my expectations in all respects, and deserves a gushing review.

Very thorough, noted any potential problems but did not try to up sell anything we didn't need

We contracted with Gochnauer in 2011 to replace 2 HVAC units and a third in 2012.  The compressor housings for the newer, higher efficiency units are sighnificantly larger than the 12 year old units they replaced and they barely fit in the service yard enclosure.  Once our service yard was expanded, I had Gochnauer come back to relocate the units for maximum efficiency. I had this done at the same time they were replaceing a compressor part under warranty.  We have been very happy with Gochnauer through the process of HVAC replacement, semi-annual service, and this latest repair and relocation project.

Our former provider made our lives miserable.  After reviewing Gochnauer online, we gave them a shot and are not disappointed.  They gave us some suggestions that worked with regard to the humidity in our home.  If our former provider had given us this suggestion two years ago, we wouldn't have experienced the mold issues after they had installed new units.  Highly recommend Gochnauer.

I could not have been happier.  My A/C sounded like a water feature with all the dripping and it's a new unit.  With some pvc pipe and some labor he solved the problem at no extra charge... fantastic!

Did bi-annural maintenance . - Spent 3 hrs doing thorough testing of 3 units. Thought price was fair. 
Also gave me information about how to get better air flow in house.

Done on time. Work completed in timely manor. Fixed all problems with ducting. Installed a vent where all other companies said it could not be done.
