FABRICATIONS INC.

Initial contact with this company was great. They were very understanding of our situation being that the chair to be reupholstered was the only chair my disabled husband could sit in comfortably. They assured me they would do everything possible to expedite the chair. I was initially quoted a price of $500-$600 over the phone and was told they were running a sale which I had seen in the local paper. I took the chair to them, which was not easy being that I am a retired female and this was a recliner. Once I got there, they unloaded the chair and I chose a few fabrics to take home and review with my husband. When I went back and advised which fabric I had chosen, the price all of a sudden went to $785. I was told the chair was oversized and would cost more. This was a wing back recliner with no skirt or anything out of the ordinary. Since it was hard for me to get the chair there in the first place, I felt that I had no choice. I did not have time to shop around as my husband needed his chair. I have heard of "bait and switch" and have now been a victim. This was on a Thursday and, after thinking about it over the weekend, I called on Monday with the intention of picking up the chair and canceling the order. I was told that they had already taken the chair apart and were working on it. They were to have it ready the following week. The next week I called to check on it and was told it would not be ready until the next Tuesday because they had to let an employee go. The following Thurs. I had not heard anything so I called and was told they were finishing up and would contact me that afternoon with a delivery time. I heard nothing. I called again the following day and was told the chair was finished and would be delivered between 3:00-4:00 that afternoon. They did not show up nor did they call. This was Friday and they closed at 4:00 so I was unable to reach anyone. The following Sat. I called multiple times and no one answered and their voice mailbox was full so I could not leave a message. Monday morning they called and told me the delivery person hurt his back and that is why they didn't deliver on Friday or call???? In any case, they delivered the chair on Monday. They did not do anything to the legs which I was told would be touched up. They did not provide arm covers which I was told they would and the chair has been altered which I specifically requested that it not be altered EVERY time I spoke with them. Now I have a chair that is basically unusable and I am out $800. Due to their lack of response and empty promises, I have not contacted them again as there is nothing that can be done now. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The upholstery job is just ok...alot of piping for some reason all around the chair which looks odd.
