Teresa came immediately to do an estimate, and we were impressed with the questions she asked about our needs and wishes. We scheduled a cleaning, although she called back to see if we could do a different day. When I said that my schedule was tight and that didn't work, she said she'd do the cleaning herself. On the scheduled day, she called to confirm that she was on her way, and asked me to call in a pass for the gated community. Soon, a van pulled up with 4 women inside (none were Teresa). They were wearing uniform shirts, and none spoke English, but they began to work. While they were cleaning, I received a phone call from our community's security office -- the women did not stop as requested to show a driver's license to the officer on duty, but kept driving through the gate. (As contractors, they are required to display a driver's license to gain entry to the community.) The police officer I spoke with said this is a recurring problem with this company, and that I should not have called in a gate pass, as contractors are required to register for a pass, and Teresa was aware of the regulations. Soon, a police officer showed up to interview the women and attempt to obtain a driver's license, none of whom could provide one. The police officer left after speaking on one of the women's cell phones with someone else who claimed to have driven the van through the gate. The officer was going to meet that person. Teresa showed up a bit later, and when I tried to discuss the situation with her, got very heated and confrontational -- she even called me a liar. She called to the women and they all departed very quickly, leaving a mess on the floors of my living room, kitchen, and family room.
