BUILDERS WHOLESALE CARPET INC

We purchased a field model home that Builders wholesale Carpet/ flooring Inc, branch: 820 Chris Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169 ( [*** Link removed ***] installed wood floors and carpeting in the whole home, covered under 1 year warranty. After moving it to the home we immediately noted that the Hillshire Oak Suede engineered wood, manufactured by Mullican Flooring was splintering and cracking in many areas. We contacted the Builders wholesale and they were very slow to respond. After inspecting the floor, they sent their manager, Brandon, who turned out to be extremely unprofessional and rude. He tried to quickly conclude that it was our fault in the way we took care of the floor. He even tried to get us to buy that the splintering was natural and we should just accept it. We then had an independent floor professional team inspect the floor and they concluded that it was “Utility Grade” flooring which is often problematic because they are seconds. They explained that Seconds are a cheaper alternative. They observed problems with our floor include, a significant amount of open grain, cracks or splintering in the flooring notably on the ends of the boards on the top wear layer. They also noticed release of the flooring from the subfloor. This indicated poor adhesion of the adhesive used. Overall, we have had a terrible experience working with this company. True to their name, they did behave as wholesalers, showing poor attention to quality and customer satisfaction. We are extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with this company and hope to caution others who may consider this company.
