Best Friends Animal Clinic

Dr. Mokos and the staff at Best Friends Animal Clinic are wonderful. They truly care about their patients AND their patients' human families. Dr. Mokos always takes the time to explain all treatment options available, suggests the one she believes is best AND willingly explains why she believes it's the best. If you choose to not go with the option she suggests, for whatever reason, that's fine, you're still treated just as well as you'd have been if you'd gone with her recommendation with NO judgment or lectures about making the wrong choice. She's willing to teach you how to do SOME things yourself at home (please remember that there are things that require professional training and expertise and cannot nor should not be done yourself at home). For me this took the form of checking my diabetic cat's blood sugar level. She was even able to sell me a very reasonably priced feline glucometer so I didn't have to try to find one online that was accurate and reliable then pay for shipping and wait for it to arrive. It's true that sometimes you end up waiting to be seen for your appointment, especially later in the afternoon, but when that's happened (to me) it's because the doctor and/or her staff were either dealing with an emergency or because they were giving some extra care and attention to someone who was saying goodbye to a beloved pet. In fact, my family was the recipient of that extra care and attention when it came time to help our dog cross over. Dr. Mokos sat on the floor with us, explained what was going to happen, what it would look like, and how our dog would be cared for afterwards then continued to patiently sit there with us until our goodbyes were said. After it was over we were even allowed to stay in the room until we got ourselves collected enough to be able to leave. The bottom line of this review is, if you're looking for a competent, compassionate veterinarian I strongly recommend Dr. Mokos and Best Friends Animal Clinic.

Very well they love animals and try to work as best they can with the pet owners.

I took my dog for her annual exam. I had to wait quite a while for my dog to be seen, however Dr. Mokos apologized and explained it was due to having to euthanize a client's cat and trying to do whatever she could to help make the process as least painful as possible for the clients. I totally understood under the circumstances. I would hope that if I was in the same situation Dr. Mokos would do the same for me and my dog, so obviously I would not be upset about her doing it for anyone else. Once my dog was seen, Dr. Mokos was very gentle and I appreciated that she gets down on the floor with the larger animals instead of insisting they be lifted on to a table. My dog really does not like being lifted off of the floor, so this helped her from being as stressed. I would recommend Dr. Mokos and will be returning for future exams and or problems.
