I had 2 representatives from Sherwin Williams come to my home to assess the work that was done by The Upstate Painting Pros. They said the painting job did not meet industry standards. I gave him the opportunity to have someone come out and also assess the quality of his work. I sent a certified letter with the review from Sherwin Williams along with the items that needed to be addressed.. This letter was sent on January 8, 2015. I haven't heard any response from the company.
"I sent [member name removed] and estimate for $4200, he then asked me to add 3 more rooms for $500 more dollars and I we agreed on the total price being $4700 (I have the email exchange confirming this). The job should of took four days but we spend three extra days and $300 extra dollars in materials, trying to appease [member name removed] very unusual requests. We also painted 3 extra doors and painted all his trim in his house trying to accommodate [member name removed]. Not once did I ask him for more money and the check he made out to me was for $4700. We completed this job on October 21st and I this is the first I have heard from him since October 24, 2014 when he became very adversarial and threatening (I have text messages confirming this exchange). Again I would be more than happy to fix any problems with the paint or any sheetrock repair that we worked on. Paint not matching is literally impossible when we “box” all the paint together before putting it on the walls. Plus I went over with [member name removed] all my materials before and during our process. I didn’t change the color nor the product I used. If there are bubbles that reoccurred after we finished I would be more than happy to correct this issue. Any scratches on the floors that he showed me were from the rubber footing from ladders and were rubbed out in front of [member name removed]. This is the first time I have heard from [member name removed] since October 24, 2014. Again, I would have no problems with fixing any issues with the paint or the bubbling. This review is so disingenuous and misleading that it is defamation. On our 6th day of trying to appease [member name removed] he wrote me a text that he was happy and satisfied with our work (I have text confirmation of this exchange). We spend one more additional day “correcting” what [member name removed] wanted to be have changed. [member name removed] than wrote me a check and two days later he sent me a very adversarial and threatening text message ( I have text confirmation of this exchange). We came into this job after he had already threw at least one other paint crew off this job. I took this job because I know my strengths and the ability of my crew to always make my customers happy. This job was a simply enough were it should of only taking 4 days, but with [member name removed] illogical and ridiculous requests it took us an additional 3 days (4 man crew plus myself) and 300 extra dollars in materials. Not once did I ask for or change our agreed upon total and in addition we attempted to do extra work outside of the work order to appease [member name removed]. I have over 100 pictures, 23 text messages, 4 videos, and 7 emails of my interaction with [member name removed] and the work we completed at his home. This review is so unfair, deceitful, disingenuous and destroys all integrity that I have formed in the last 7 years. Hence, if that if this review stays up and my leads and my workload specifically from Angie’s list suffers in 2015, my lawyer has recommended to me that take legal action against [member name removed]. I am not sure what [member name removed] is looking to accomplish here but this was certainly not the right way of going about it."
This is a great crew! The owner was on site supervising the painting of our house which is rather large. We thought the job went very well and would hire this company again when needed.
We found this company on Angies List.!!
My first contact with Joe was when he was painting the neighbor's house and I asked him to come quote a price on painting several rooms of my home. He gave me such a fair quote that I realized I was able to add on the last two rooms. He painted my whole house for just over $2000!!! I had the rooms quoted by two other contractors a couple months back realizing that I would only be able to do a couple of rooms at a time. I waited until he completed the neighbor's house and asked if they were satisfied. They stated they were more than pleased with the outcome. I called him the next day and we scheduled a time for the following week.
He arrived on time and went right to work. He even assisted in moving a piece of furniture that I was unable to do myself. He took little if no breaks at all. His work was precise and detail orientated. I can not find a brush stroke anywhere :) My house looks fantastic!!!!
He was more than professional. He was kind. I have two dogs and two young children. He would take the time to listen to my children's many, many questions. He was patient and would talk to the dogs when they would find their way to him despite the fact I would try to keep them out of his way.
I would recommend him 110%! In fact, when my budget allows......he will be coming back to repaint my doors and trim!!!!
