Not only are you overpaying for a bottom dollar build, their customer service is essentially nonexistent. I have been ghosted, told I’m wrong, told the damage isn’t bad enough to be fixed etc. My property has been damaged with no rectification. They charge you 350-500k for a less than acceptable finished product. They also don’t like to keep up with their warranty claims! Wouldn’t recommend SK to my worst enemy

My wife and I had a house built by SK in Greenville in 2023. We had an excellent experience. They have a lot more reviews that show their abilities and what people really think about them on Google, for their Greer location. Overall, it went very well for us and I'd recommend them to family and friends.

Don’t let the “Best of the Upstate” nonsense fool you, SK is a shameful business run by shameless individuals. They show little respect for your time, and once they have it, absolutely none for your money. I could go on about the countless issues I’ve had with SK, from them botching the closing on my house and taking months to fix what they signed saying would be done in two weeks, them not showing up for appointments THEY have made (at least ten times and counting, some of which they were contractually obligated to…) to the fact that they will lie and mislead you into thinking they are “embarrassed” and will “make things right,” only to cease all communications with you. And these are just a few of my seemingly countless interactions with SK. I implore and encourage everyone considering SK to read the recent reviews here, Yelp, the BBB, etc left by others who have had shared in my experiences. Because once they get your money, SK has little concern for you.

After moving into our new home, we discovered inferior quality products used in construction, several shortcuts with items, and items they committed to fixing but did not fix. Their owner and realtor, Stan, would not answer his phone and did not show up to 2 separate appointments setup with him. The biggest issue, one day before closing on the house, they removed all the tress in the backyard without permission! They lied to us about their plan to remove some brush. My wife wanted the house enough to purchase anyway. I believe SK is completely unethical and would never recommend anyone to do business with them.

Purchased new home from the builder. Once we tried to install a fridge, we found the island so close that we couldn't open the door. We contacted the builder and their response was "that is the way it was when you closed on the house so too bad". We then had to pay $900 to have the island moved.. Then 2 years and 28 days after closing the roof began to leak. Their warrany department told us that there was a 2 year warranty on leaks and because it was out of warrany they would not repair the roof. So we had a roofing company come in and they said the ridge vent was improperly installed. We then spent $1,000 repairing that. Our next door neighbors roof began to leak at 2.5 years, same issue. We had standing water next to the house due to poor grading and I got the same response. They came out 4 times to look at it and never fixed it. I had to pay $1,000 to get regrading done to keep water from ruining our foundation. Do not buy from this builder!! Their warranty is for crap and they will not correct issues they clearly are at fault for.

We were impressed by the looks of our first home. Brand new construction. We still are mostly happy. We had some issues with our flooring soon after move in, and this wasn't corrected until we got in touch with greer flooring directly. They fixed those problems. We have also had issues with not one, but two, light fixtures slipping out of the ceiling. We have had an electrician come at our expense twice, even though the home was less than two years old. Electrician told us corners were cut during construction re: measurement of holes and fixture. Now, with our house less than 3 years old, the same fixture has once again fallen out of the ceiling. Noticed last week that there is a hole in our ceiling by the big fixture in our dining area. This is a large fixture hanging by a chain. Am concerned that if this fixture pops out like the other, this is a danger to us or our 6 month old infant. Called sk and left a message. Do not feel that if construction had been done well, we would have to deal with fixtures literally falling onto our heads. Call was not returned yet, so I am disappointed in responsiveness at this time. Want to give credit to a local company, but am starting to feel like we were naive buyers.

Very accommodating and went above what I expected to make sure we were satisfied.  Crew was very professional and left no mess.  Cleaned everything up quickly and kept the dust to a minimum which was a major concern for us.

Overall, we are very happy with the completed addition. Work was started quickly after contract signing and drying in was completed in 3 weeks. The S-K project manager was conscientious and easy to work with. He made a lot of suggestions that saved us money. The sub-contractors S-K used did work of acceptable quality, but getting them on the jobsite and working was sometimes a challenge. The original construction time estimate was 3 months, but it actually ran about 6 months and it took an additional 2 months to get some minor punch list items taken care of. They all were eventually taken care of. As noted, we are very happy with the completed addition overall. Two minor areas of some dissatisfaction: the interior paint job was a little lacking in that taped joints and covered screwheads are visible from almost any angle and the poured concrete pads were not protected during subsequent construction and became stained with red mud from workers walking on them. The red stain will not come out.
The bottom line is that S-K was very cost effective and we would use them again.
