Griffin Electric

Mike Griffin was very responsive to my initial inquiry, and promptly called me to set up an appointment to inspect the work and provide an estimate. He called again shortly before coming over for the initial appointment, and showed up right on time. He seemed to have a solid grasp of the need, gave a reasonable estimate of the time it would take and the hourly rate. I told him I was not on any time schedule and was happy to be "worked in" to their schedule as weather permitted. We set a tentative date of Monday January 13. Mike also explained that he doesn't "do" the work anymore due to back issues, but he would be there with Buzz and his helper when the job was done. On Sunday afternoon (January 12) Mike called me around 4pm and said the weather looked good for the next day (the 13th) and wanted to confirm their appointment with me. I agreed, and he said they would be at my house between 9 and 9:30 am. Mike, Buzz and the helper arrived right on time at 9:20 am, and we took about 30 to 45 minutes to discuss the scope of the work. Even though I'd talked with Mike previously, it was important to review the job details with Buzz, who was in charge of actually getting the physical work done.This job wasn't as simple as it might sound, because I'd laid some of this wiring about 4 or 5 years previously, and couldn't remember what wires went where. They knew exactly how to remedy that issue, and gave me advice on how they suggested I deal with some problems. I think Buzz was very professional, very knowledgable and attached the job quickly and efficiently. The final bill was right in line with what had been estimated. In short, I was very pleased with the entire experience, and would use them again in a heartbeat. In fact, I have several small projects that will require an electrician, and I'm sure that I will call them back when I'm ready.

They were very professional and did a great job. I was quite impressed with how easily and quickly they were able to move the light switch for us. I thought I would find a rather large hole I would need to repair but no, that was not the case. They were able to cut a hole just big enough for the light receptacle. They got help up at another job before coming to our house but they stayed in contact with me and did a great job. Highly recommended and I would use them again.

Took a while to track the problem but they worked as fast as they could. I would recommend that the workers wear booties over their shoes when they come in doors on rainy days like today. Good job and would use again.

I have been a member of Angie?s List for awhile but had not used the service much. An advertisement drew me to try again to have our electrical troubles fixed. Once signed on, I read the positive feedback for Griffin Electric and instead of going with the advertised ?special deal? took a chance by calling Griffin due to so many kudos from A-listers. Mike answered the phone and our family was extremely lucky that Griffin was able to work us in on the same day we called. Never, Never, Never has our family experienced the level of competence these guys had. In. Any. Field. Buzz headed up the site visit but prior to arrival asked us to describe the troubles over the phone. Also he requested for us to have a detailed list of the issues ready for him to work from upon arrival. We had been experiencing intermittent outages in outlets, overhead and exterior lights. We had concerns about possible overloading on a different circuit. Buzz identified, tested and corrected all problems. The result is the major safety concerns and malfunctioning outlets/breakers were diagnosed and remedied in record time. We have had such bad luck in the past with other electrical contractors that the way these guys identified and solved our problems was a complete eye opener. This is how real professionals operate! For the first time in months I do not feel like our house could burn down any second. The electrics are fixed and tight and it was accomplished in record time. No waste of their time or your money here. They are awesome!

I originally called on 08/30/13, it was very hard to get a hold of them and get an appointment time. The appointment was set for 10/1/13, 5 weeks after the original call. They arrived on time and did the work. I later decided that I wanted one more exterior light installed, but because it was so difficult to get the first appointment I used someone else that I had used before, but cost more. When the other electrician went to tie in the security light to one that Griffin's installed, he found that the lights had not been grounded. They also were not installed properly and were basically just hanging there without a weather proof casing. The new electrican fixed the issue, but also found that the bracket required to keep the lights in place were not used either. I will never use Griffin Electrical again, as I don't feel I can trust the work they do.

Griffin Electric responded quickly to our call but were caught up at another job and could not come on the first day. However, they came the next day and were done in 30 minutes. When we asked how much they would charge to install two light fixtures, they said no charge because we were paying for one hour of time and we still had time left. The fixtures were installed quickly and we were delighted! We would definitely use Griffin Electric again!

They were very efficient, found the problem, explained the alternatives ands costs to repair and carried out the repair. Will use them in the future.

Two employees arrived later than originally scheduled, but did call in advance. They performed a detail review of my home and corrected a couple small issues. They also stayed around to give me advice and estimates on future electrical projects I had planned. Will definitely use them again.

Very well. No problems. They were quick and thorough and solved the problem of the floodlights and circuit breaker.

We called the Griffin's on Saturday to set up a time for them to come check out our electrical problems. I am an avid DIY'er but know when the job is not something i feel comfortable tackling. I can replace a ceiling fan or a light without too much problem. but the issues i had were not ones i felt comfortable with. I had an electrical outlet that had burned out and had limited wiring available to rewire outlet. I had an attic light fixture where the whole fixture had fallen off the wiring and has been this way for several years (yes gasp). Not something i felt comfortable touching. A hall light had issues as well. We told them it was not an emergency even though we had called them on a Saturday. They were able to fit us in on Monday (even though a holiday) in between jobs. Although i was expecting a quote and a possible upsell to more work they just got to work. Mr. Griffin Sr had already written up the job order for $125 which I thought was very inexpensive so i asked if they had time to install the ceiling fan (expecting to pay additional for this) They discussed and said they had time. All of the above was done in less than an hour and even though I added in the ceiling fan the bill was still $125. they stated that was their hourly rate (which you would pay if they were there for only 10 minutes or 1 hour) One of the reasons i had put off this work for so long was that I was concerned about getting a $500 bill for the services. They do not dawdle or waste your time. It probably took them a whole 15-20 minutes to install the ceiling fan (replace existing one) and if you have ever done one of these yourself you know that this is pretty quick.

Two men arrived at my home on time, asked questions about my problem and explained what they would do to solve the problem. They made repairs and cleaned up after finishing.\ I am pleased with this experience.

The men were thorough in determining the cause of the odor and explained to me the details of the problem, which I appreciated. The negative was that they left some dirt and a bit of trash behind them - typical for repairmen. They also reeked of cigarette smoke, which is particularly offensive to a non-smoker. I was given a discount for being a member of Angie's List, which was nice, but I thought it was a lot of money for such a simple solution to my problem. However, what was charged may be reasonable - I haven't had anyone out to do electrical work before.

Very professional, honest and realiable. A year ago, I called another elect. company well known for their adds. An electrician inspected my house for almost 2 hours, and charged me $180. He was not able to find the damage. He told us that they need to turn down walls to find the problem, and he gave us an estimate of $1000 plus parts. A year later, we find Griffing Electric throught Angie's list. They came on time, and they found the damage in less than 5 minutes, set an appointment, came on time, explained to me the damage reason, and fixed it. They are master electricians, they know their business and I only paid $505 for everything. I highly recommended Griffing Electricians. They are awesome.

Due to a short- term scheduling conflict, I was unable to use Griffin Electric for my rewiring. However, they were always very responsive and quick to adapt to changes, so I would definitely call them again though I did not experience the full performance.

The workers were on time. They appeared to know what they were doing. However I found out later that they had wired the outlets wrong, according to another Angie's List company.

They performed excellent work with minimum cuts in the wall. They cleaned-up neatly, were very courteous and super professional. They are a model for the other companies to follow. This is the second time I used Griffin Electric services and would definitely use them in the future. This is a company you can trust to do the job right and at the right price.

Griffin Electric did an excellent job of servicing our home. They added 2 circuit breakers and 2 recepticals in our garage and 1 receptical in our living room, We wish we had made this improvement 8 years ago. They are very professional and efficient in their work. We had used them before and will continue to call them for our electrical needs.
