They have been great to me. They can do so many things from surgery, internal medicine and cancer for your pets. I have used the internal medicine Dr. L Cousins and surgery department for my dogs and cats. I will definitely recommend them and absolutely use them, again.

The surgery went extremely well, and the entire mass (about 2.5lbs!) was removed. Boomhauer had to stay with them in the hospital for 6 days, but had excellent care and I received twice-daily updates from the surgeon, Dr. Sawyere. It has been nearly 4 weeks since the surgery and Boomhauer has done so well - the huge fat scruff is gone (people thought he has extremely overweight, but it was the mass), and he is now able to sleep deeply and comfortably, which he could not before. We are incredibly lucky to have the experts at UVS so close by. We live in Greenwood, which is a little over an hour away. As an additional service, I learned that our regular vet here in Greenwood was able to (at no charge) send Boomhauer's x-rays and records to the UVS team for a consultation before they determined that he would need to be seen by them. They also kept our vet updated about Boom's condition throughout the process, from the diagnosis to the surgery. It actually took several tests - from x-rays, a scope and finally a CT scan - to eventually figure out what was wrong with Boom, which I have included in the Cost of Service. These were all necessary, though, because it was difficult to diagnose. They worked hard and consulted with each other while trying to save our dog. We couldn't be more grateful or pleased with the outcome.

While my Maine **** did not survive his mast cell sarcoma, my other cat (who was 14 at the time) with bone cancer in her toe survived for another year. I was particularly impressed with Dr Waldron's expertise with Chloe. She operated on Chloe the very day that she diagnosed the ruptured disc. Chloe stayed in the hospital for a couple of weeks and then came home. While she did have crate rest for a month, she was trying to get around a little right off the bat. The care was not cheap, but it was EXCELLENT! I highly recommend UVS and we are lucky to have such a resource here in the upstate of the Carolinas.

The best veterinary experience I've had in years. Everyone was super nice and professional at the same time. My little buddy will be having surgery there.

My 3 years old dog that was happy and health seem to have something in his throat. My local vet did not have the equipment
to scope his throat. They send me to this place. My first visit Dr Mack done exam,chem17 + lytes panel w/CBC,radiograph-two views, ultrasound-abdominal.  All of his blood work was good. He had been gagging and swallowing hard that is why I had him at the vet in the first place. Now she puts him on meds for GRED &IBD. now IBD-he was not vomiting did not have decreased appetite or diarrhea or weight loss. The Gred was the reflux. Now she sent me home with 3 meds for him to take. Next appointment weeks later I go back and the same. I questioned her about his meds because he had been shaking is head and licking alot and srcatching. He had allergies that I had went over with her the first appointment. She blew me off like i was stupid.
Said to have the meds refilled and if no change then we needed to scope him. Almost 3 weeks later we went down that morning for a simple scope. Dog went in happy wagging his little tail he came out  the back door in a box. This vet just didn't act like she cared to much. Please please if you have a choice find a different vet. Maybe the other ones there know what they are doing and you to want have a dead dog to drive over an hour back home with. Total bill for first to visits where a little more than $900
last bill was $400 something but she gave me a $200 discount or credit. If she had done the procedure it would have been anywhere from $1200 up. I guess no need to do it on a dead little 17 lb 3 year old dog. In my opinion she didn't know much or care much, I'm sure she didn't loose much sleep about it after I had to drive away and my family was devastated. I'm sure if you are looking for a vet that you love your pet also please please please done choose here Upstate Veterinary Specialists

I had surgery done to two of our dogs. I have big dogs. Everybody there has a specialty. That's where we go to when we have surgery to our dogs. We were referred there from our doctor. We had a wonderful doctor there, Dr. Sean Morrison. As far as punctuality they probably have 20 minutes late all the time but its all surgery and all specialty stuffs. They do all of the K-nine facility people in Greenville and all around. Most of the doctors refer people there. They are good. They also have an emergency section there too. My mother had to take her cat to the emergency. They're open on the weekends, anytime, a 24-hour emergency. They're pretty top notch. They were very kind. We had two dogs that had surgery. The second time the dog had to go in, normally the surgery is three thousand they cut down to a thousand dollars for us. They love the animals. They do their job and care.

We can't say enough good things about this organization. Every one there is a top flight professional who's interest is in seeing that you get the best possible outcome for your pet no matter what the problem. This is not the first time we relied on them to help one of our pets and in each instance they were truly outstanding with respect to their professional capabilities and there relationship with us and our pet. You can't do better than these Veterinary Specialists.
The out come for this particular situation is truly remarkable, since our dog is almost back to 100 percent normal mobility after being paralyzed from the hips down due to a herniated disc. He could not use his rear legs at all the morning we took him in for evaluation and recommendations, and just a few days later when we went back to pick him up he was able to walk fairly normally. Now , except for some occasional situations, he is back to his normal self and we could not be more pleased.

These are some of the nicest people including the front office and wonderful vets.

Our DVM was very caring and explained everything he did completely. He gave us cost estimates up front before he would continue treatment. And when we determined that we could not save our cat, he did not charge us for the meds to very gently put him down.He and his nurse cried right along with me and were very compassionate.

There are several DVM's with different specialties and they are all very professional and very good.

I hope not to need them for my other cat, but I would not hesitate taking her to them if she became very ill.
