It went great. This was the third or fourth time that I've been there. I would not hesitate to go back. I was completely satisfied.

My favorite suitcase that my daughter gave me for Christmas needed to be repaired. An airline that I flew recently to Venice, Italy, ripped the handle halfway off and the zipper tabs were missing as well. The gentleman at The Tailor Shop fixed them all in a very timely manner and did a professional job. Plus he and the dear lady that works with him were so kind and friendly. I will definitely use them again.

I suggested my Grandson go there to get his a hem on his Marine slacks. He told me they did an excellent job, charged a fair price and gave him fast service. I told him I would pass this information on to Angie's List.

Oh, I had the WORST experience at the Tailor Shop. I see other reviewers were pleased with alterations done for them. Perhaps Lila and Eric are good at alterations - but whatever you do, do not ask them to sew a straight hem on a pair of curtains. I bought 4 new curtain panels for a large window - $25 a panel at Bed, Bath, and Beyond - and they needed to be shortened. I hemmed 2 panels myself, but it was difficult because I do not have a large table to work on. So I got lazy and decided to have the other panels professionally done. I took in a panel as sample for length etc., and told Eric I wanted a 4 and quot; hem. He apparently didn't write this down, so a few weeks later telephoned me to ask about length and hem depth. I told him the measurements again. After about another week, I got a call that the curtains were ready. I went to pick them up - and the hem was 2, and not 4, inches deep!! Eric said he could fix it. Several more weeks passed, and then I got another call that the drapes were ready. So, another trip to pick them up - and this time the hem was very visibly crooked. Lila agreed that the job was not acceptable, and said she'd either buy me a new pair of curtains or fix mine to my satisfaction. So today, with hope that 3rd time is a charm, I went yet again to pick the curtains up. And they weren't done correctly, with the hem not correct and sewing machine oil on the curtains. Not only did I not get a professional job, but I got insulted when I complained - told by Eric that I was too picky, just didn't want to pay them, and that I was a bitter person. Net result - I walked out, leaving the curtains there, because they're useless to me. I wouldn't hang that hot mess in my house. So I'm out the cost of the curtains, wasted a lot of time driving back and forth to the Tailor Shop, certainly haven't had any fun..... and now need to start all over, buying two more curtain panels, to the tune of $50, at Bed, Bath and Beyond. And of course hemming them myself this time.

I purchased two pairs of dress slacks online from a high end retailer. I wasn't happy with a tailor that I had used in the past so I looked here on Angie's list and found The Tailor Shop. They had excellent reviews and even though they were a good 20 minutes driving time from me I decided to take the pants to them. I am so glad I did!! I took them in for alterations on a Saturday and they were ready by the following Wednesday afternoon. Lila and Eric are so nice and very professional. And the work they did on the pants was exceptional! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a tailor!

I took pants in to her on Wed. The shop is small but pleasant. I tried the pants on in the changing room and went back out to Lila so she could mark them. The whole process took, at most, 5 min. She is a charming woman and asked when I'd like them back. I was in no hurry so I said Friday. I think, if I had needed them done quickly, she would have gotten them back to me later that day. She called me on Thursday to let me know the pants were ready. I picked them up on Friday at lunch time. Rather than just fold the previous hem under, she had taken the old hem out and re sewn a double stitched new hem. Very professional looking!! I tried them on at home and they are the perfect length. She told me she's been working on her own for a long time and before that she was a tailor for some of the big department stores. Her talent is obvious. She is remarkable at what she does.
