My wife counted and it's the 9th time we've moved in 15 years of marriage!  So we know the difference between a good moving crew and a mediocre moving crew.  Your movers were great!  We'd like to specifically mention Marshall Williams, Neal Rapley, Chris Munn, & Tracy Brumsley who were fantastic.       Please let Mr. Turrentine know we appreciated everyone's efforts to make our move successful!

Another friend recommended them. SDL estimated the cost and actually the move came in under their estimate. The actual cost was $6713. Everyone we dealt with was extremely professional, from the sales rep (Mike Thomas) to the driver and packers. I would not hesitate in using them again. Great company!!!!

Their representative gave us a "bound" estimate meaning the price could be lower but never higher. He explained the $500 deductible was in case the truck crashed and we had a total loss. When the packers came they said he had underestimated the boxes needed. He calledand said it would cost an extra $600 in boxes and he would split it with us for $300. The packers told us this was a common ploy with him. He under estimates jobs to get the business and then tries to up the price. They told us we had a guaranteed price and not to pay. Besides, they estimated they would only nedd another $100 in boxes! When the shipment arrived, they had broken the backs out of our office furniture, scuffed the finish on our curio cabinet, broke the upper shelving units on the desk, broke knobs off several itemss of furniture. We took pictures of all the damage and the driver noted some of it as well. I repaired the office furniture the best I could since we run a business from our home and need the office. We spent three weeks unpacking and discovering damage. The paperwork said we had nine months to file a claim. We filed it in three weeks. Two weeks later they sent a furniture repairman who did a very good job of fixing most of the furniture. He presented United with a bill for $620. They said they only authorized him to look at the damage and estimate the repairs and would not pay so he put a lien on my belongings! Besides they said I owed the first $500 of the $620 as that was the deductible. I explained we were told that was for a total loss and they said it was for ANY damage even damage caused by their neglect or incompetence. So they had a license to destroy or lose up to $500 of our possessions and there was nothing we could do about it! Just so you know, it would have cost an additional $278 to get zero deductible, that's over half of the deductible because they know they are going to damage your possessions.I said I wanted to be compensated for the two days work and materials I bought to fix the office furniture. They said that it is not their policy to pay for damages if the homeowner repaired it or discarded it EVEN THOUGH THE DRIVER HAD NOTED THE DAMAGE AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY and we had submitted pictures!  I said my business could not wait a month for them to get around to sending someone to fix things.  No one from Smith Dray Lines had even contacted us about the damage until the repairman called to make an appointment to come and fix our furniture.I have moved six times with "professional" movers and have never had this poor of an experience before. We will never use United again!

Their quote was lower than others but sales rep assured me it was good. After quote I seriously cleaned out and gave away to get the price down. Packers used 20% more boxes than estimated even after I cleaned out and gave away stuff because they put too much paper in box. One box only had a ball cap, one box had one cup and saucer. I have moved 7 times before and want things packed right but this is ridiculous. Was told new girls were being very careful - like this is my problem? They gave me an extra guy for 2 hours on last day of move to make up for it - that's worth $50 not $750 that was over the packing estimate. Moving estimate was also low. Original estimate was $5000 including moving $750 worth of TVs. We moved the TVS ourselves, gave away lots of stuff to Goodwill and the bill came in at $5600. Also, furniture was scratched and rolling tool box fell off back of truck, Cost of tool box $600, money received from movers 90 days after submitting a claim $0.

I received very good services from United. I can not comment on what their rates may be because my company paid for my relocation. I felt very good about this company in general. The employees were friendly and they were very careful with my belongings.

Smith Mayflower Moving was an excellent moving company. The movers as well as the packers showed great skill and a high level of pride in all of the work that they did. We were more than satisfied with their service.

They were just excellent. All of our things arrived on time; which I was really worried about. Everything was handled exactly the way it was instructed. Every one at United was very friendly and helpful. It was a good experience. Oh, they didn't scratch or dent one piece of furniture. That was good.

I have used United Van Lines to move me a few times before and I was happy with all of the moves. This time was a little bit disappointing though. I noticed a little after the move that there were a few things missing which I did report to them and they said it was too late I had already signed things clearing the movers of any liability. As long as I received different guys I would still use them again.

This was a very long move and we were worried about damaged furniture. There were certain items that were very special to us so the movers used extra padding on these. Although it was fifteen hundred miles they arrived at our new house on time and assisted us with moving in. Not just the large items, but almost everything we had. They made a stressful situation much easier on us and we would gladly hire them again.

I felt overall they did an awesome job. There were some minor issues such as we had a couple of things get broke, but nothing worth complaining about. They were also a bit late getting down here, but they handled everything very smoothly. I thought that they did a good job of packing up and nothing came up missing. Our company paid for the move, so I am not sure what the cost of their service was.

The one aspect of this move that totally made it sour to us was a pair of my diamond earrings came up missing. They didn t break anything and got the move done on time but when we inquired about them taking care of the insurance deductible on the jewelry they declined. It wasn t a matter of what happened or who did it but they wouldn t hold themselves accountable for the wrongdoing.

They were good and very pleasant, they did use covers and pads. They completed the job on time and kept the original estimate. I was satisfied, however, they did damage items, they packed items on top of each other and discovered the damage while unpacking. I notified the driver, but have not been contacted by the company. I am not sure if the driver reported the damage to the company, as I have not had time to call the company.

This company was rather good. They did not break anything or misplace any of my belongings. The move went rather smoothly and I did not have any complaints at all. I am pleased with my overall experience and I would hire them again if I ever moved in the future. I do not recall exactly what they charged me because I kind of gave them a rather large tip as well. I was pleased so much though that the tip and the bill did not even matter to me. It was just a relief to not have moved myself and have the help of experienced workers.

We were very happy with this moving company. They showed up at both ends of the move on time and they were very careful with all of our stuff. They didn t break anything and we felt the price we paid was very much worth it.

This was a two-part move and they did everything needed to accommodate our specific needs and timing. There wasn't anything lost or broken in the move and they took great care of our stuff. I would give them high praises for being so helpful to us in our move here.
