We've been dealing with them for years and years. We have an annual contract with them. I pay each month, it's an annual plan, so it's like I pay the same thing each month, like $20 or something. That wouldn't be realistic. They do a  periodic 6 month inspection and re calibration. If anything goes wrong, then they charge for that. It depends on which technician comes out so I'd say the average is quite satisfactory. I don't think it is safe to grade the company an overall grade on one visit because you could have something go wrong with it and it might take more time than normal and that could drop their average. You can't go by this for a year. On this one experience, I'd say it's above average. They are prompt, thorough, pleasant and in general, knowledgeable. I have no clue on the price because I have nothing to compare it to. I don't know what other people charge. Some of them don't know as much so overall, I would give them a B on quality.

They are very professional and responsive and always do a good job.

We've been doing business with Mccown Co. Air Conditioning & Heating for many, many years. They've always done a really good job. I have a 24 year old heating unit and they've kept it running good. They're prices are a bit high sometimes. They've gone above and beyond in keeping our machines in good shape and taking the time to do the job right. They do good work.

Serviceman came to do regular maintenance check for 3 heat pumps we have.  When he discovered that air conditioning in one was not functioning properly, he made repair and adjusted it in addition to the regular maintenance checks and filter replacements for all three units. We have trusted McCown Company for many years to maintain our units.  We have been well satisfied and can recommend the company.

I was very satisfied with their service. It was the first time I used them. I would grade them A’s on all categories.

I will never ever recommend them. I reported them to the better business bureau. To this day if anybody speaks to me about them I tell them that they have done work in my house. Their work budded up against my plumbing and it ruined my plumbing. It caused a back up and they refused to even come out and look at it. They were like “It couldn’t be us, it couldn’t’ possible be our work, no way it is us”. They were rude, nasty, wouldn’t stand by their work and wouldn’t even come out to discuss it. I told them that I am not a mean person but every chance I got I would be sure to spell their name correctly and tell everybody I know.

They do a good work.  They are conscientious.  I didn't get any other quote.  It was more than I was expecting, and I think I was ignorant.

We have a maintenance contract with them, and they maintain our three units.  They come out twice a year.  There is no charge except for an amount that we pay once every year.  This is a part of the contract.  Their service is excellent.  They are fairly priced too.  They come out when they say they would and they do what they're supposed to do.  They keep our units running well.  They are great.  We have no problem.

They arrived when they said they would be here. They were professional and finished in the timeframe we were given. When we purchased a heat pump, they analyzed ductwork, current needs, and made recommendations and provided purchase options. We were able to make the final decision based on the options provided.

We have been extremely satisfied with McCown. (My sister in Easley had heating failure on her furnace when she went in the hospital 02/11/2011, and I got McCown out there for her. It was a thermostat failure which they replaced for $103. The man was about an hour later than estimated but then it was around 8PM when the problem occurred.) Again the tech was competent, wore covers on his shoes whenever he entered the house, was friendly and professional, and checked the whole unit out before leaving to ensure he diagnosed the problem correctly.

He never came back either. I called the company and I was told the service person was no longer working for the company. With such a turnover I wondered what was wrong. When the service person was here I asked him to check the outside unit as I kept hearing a noise. The company sent me a bill for a cleaning of the unit. They said the service man cleaned the unit when he was here, I called the Company and told them what the problem had been and they were going to send another service person. I told them they were no longer welcomed at my house. Then I received a check and was informed my Unit was a 12 seer, not what I believed I had ordered. Also not the air cleaning unit either. Their excuse was that the location for the unit was not big enough for the 14 seer. If I had been asked I could have found another place for the inside part of the unit. I was not asked. I called and asked for the salesman that sold me the unit and he is no longer with the company.

It took a while to get the job scheduled although the estimator came promptly after my call. The technicians came on time and performed the job in a timely manner. They wore booties over their shoes, but left a little cleaning up for me to do after they left. The newly installed register fit well and the job looked good.
