The actual installation of the countertops was sub-contracted. I requested, and was able, to visit the subcontractor's place of business to assure myself that what I ordered was what I was going to get! It was. This company then give me an installation date a week or two later.
They arrived on time, were very professional. On site, they cut places for faucet, soap dispenser and cooktop. They cleaned up . There were no problems, They connected the electricity to my new cooktop but a Lowe's plumber had to come the next day(and quot;Saturday) to hook up the plumbing for the kitchen faucet. - so we were without kitchen water overnight. That hookup had been included in my price and it also went smoothly. I was very pleased with the service and the outcome.If you're in a hurry though, this type of arrangement might not work well for you.
They arrived and gave me an estimate to replace my roof.
After I received 4 other bids, I decided Lowes was the most expensive and did not have the best warrantee.
I did not use Lowes.
After communicating with 3 different people at Lowes' corporate installed sales department over a period of months and 3 asst. store managers, we have been unable to get a timely resolution on our carpet replacement. The last corporate person we spoke with was very helpful and worked with the store to get something to happen however, after visiting this store to reorder carpet and also order carpet for 2 additional rooms. we were told that someone would call us to finalize the order. After 2 weeks and 2 calls to the store management., we found out our salesman had transferred stores and the dept supervisor did not call us back.
What is worse is that we have to explain this entire story to every new person we speak with. If we were not tied to Lowes for replacing the carpet at their cost due to installation problems, we would never use Lowes or any home improvement store for carpet again. Customer service is not a priority based on this experience.
Update September 2012: Lowes Corporate Installed Sales really stepped up and helped us get resolution with the local store. Without this person being committed to customer satisfaction, it would not have happened. We are satisfied with the end result and appreciate the follow up. It should not have been this difficult when was all said and done. There are definite gaps in how the customer service at the local store is handled.
