The foreman was very polite and seemed competent when he talked to me about doing the grinding. I walked around the front and back yards with him or his assistant to show them all of the stumps. When I checked their work, though, they had forgotten to do some of the stumps. On the ones they did remember, they did a very poor job on about 5 of the 7 stumps: The trunk and pieces of roots were ground to just below ground level, and some I had to ask them 2 or 3 times to keep grinding until they were sufficiently below ground level. They left without cutting to the ground the small stump. They didn't use a stump grinder, just a narrow trench digger. The foreman of the crew sat in his truck almost the entire time in the air conditioning, fiddling with his phone.
