They were very responsive.  But they were very expensive.  My experience with them was good.  They were very thorough and they spent a lot of time.

Everything went well. They did forget to install the docking station for our satellite, but once I called them about this they made it right very quickly.

Fencing Service
$5,650
I bought the fence based on an advertisement that I saw at Home Depot. If I have to do the work again, then I might not buy it from there. We had problems when they sent out one of their installers and we had problems while transacting with them after buying the fence. You will find all kinds of fence pieces when you go to the front door of Home Depot. They send you to the fence guy and take your name once you tell them that you want a fence. They then come out to the house to measure and tell you what they are going to do and then they give you the price. They informed me that it would be around $20 for an eight foot section. I was shocked when I came to know about the final price, as they sold me a custom fence. It was a nice fence, but was well beyond what the advertised price was. I sure did get what I paid for. They told me as to when they would come out and they showed up on time as well. I don't have any complains about the people that were involved. It appeared as if the salesman had commission. I go to Home Depot all the time, but I wouldn't buy another fence from them.

It went alright. The sales people were very busy and it was hard to get one employee to commit to spending time with us to buy the correct type of hardwood. The employee was not as knowledgeable about the different types of hardwood so that made it difficult to choose, and once we decided, they didn't have enough in stock, so we had to wait for someone else to get a fork truck and bring more supplies up front so we could purchase them. In all, we spent about 2 hours there mostly just waiting for assistance. This was a very busy Saturday, but places like Home Depot should be equipped with experts knowledgeable enough to sell their products.

Water Heater Service
$793
We went to Home Depot to purchase a water heater. We were told that if we were having Home Depot install it we should not purchase the water heater in the store, but buy it over their installation line. That way the contractor would bring the water heater when he came to install it. That is what we did. So on the day of our installation, the contractor showed up within the time frame he told me he would be there. He took a look at the water heater and said it was a direct vent and that the water heater we had purchased was the wrong kind. Well, WE didn't know that there were different kinds of gas water heaters and Home Depot's Installation line never told us there were when we were buying it. So he said he would have to go to the hardware store to get a direct vent water heater. [Three hours passed.] We finally called Home Depot's Installation line to find out why the contractor hadn't come back. They said they would find out and call us. [Nearly an hour passed.] Home Depot's Installation line called us back and said that the contractor said he couldn't get back out that day; he was going to call us "later." (!!!) They said that the contractor told them there were issues due to only having 53 inches with which to work. We asked what that meant. They replied that when you have a water heater in a crawlspace, sometimes there are restrictions on what can be installed. We then told them that the water heater was in the back of a completely empty garage with nothing BUT room to work in. That took them a bit by surprise and they took a few minutes to call the contractor again. Home Depot Installation then called us back and said that the new water heater would be over $200 more, the installation would be over $200 more, there would be a $30 trip fee for the contractor to come back out and additional charges for the contractor to cut a new hole in the garage wall for the vent because he "didn't like the existing hole." Oh, and that it would be two to three weeks before they could get a direct vent water heater to us. We told them to forget it and give us our money back. They said that they would, but we would have to pay a trip fee. We finally decided it wasn't worth the trouble of arguing and agreed to get our money back minus the trip fee. They informed us we would have to go to the local Home Depot store to get our money back. The only positive part of the story happens at Home Depot. We spoke with a service representative and a manager who were shocked and appalled at how we were treated. They then informed us that NO contractor is even authorized through Home Depot to install direct vent water heaters! They told us that they would eat the trip fee themselves and refund our entire amount. They salvaged our doing ANY kind of business with Home Depot in the future and left the blame exactly where it belongs - on the Home Depot Installation line. Without the in-store experience, this score would be pretty much all "F's."

My den is the actual only place that has carpet in my home. It is a very weird shaped den, only two walls are straight, and the other two kind of curve around the fireplace. Home Depot did a very excellent job. They managed to install the carpet accordingly. Nothing is overlapping, sticking out or anything. I would say that it was an A+ job.

The sales person at Home Depot was very helpful with our carpet selection and Home Depot came out within a week to install it. They did a great job. There are no tacks or seams visible and it's been quite durable.

They went above and beyond in the removal and replacement of our carpets. They were very tidy and respectful during the whole process they were here. They also took our old carpet with them and the whole experience was virtually mess free. I can't remember the exact cost of their service.

Home Depot did an adequate job of installing the screen door. They called two hours after they were supposed to be here, to tell us that they had to postpone until the next day. It would have been better if they called before, we waited the two hours. I am not sure if I would call this company again.

I wasn't impressed with the guy who came out and measured the dimensions, but the ones who came out to install the flooring did an excellent job. They were able to install all of our flooring in just one day. I felt I got a pretty good deal on the flooring and on our installation. The guys were very professional and good at what they did.

I will never have Home Depot come out and install or assemble anything again. They did a fine job with the carpet, but when they did the Pergo flooring they were disrespectful to my neighbors. They played their music really loud. There was 3-4 inches of sawdust left on the floor. They had a poor attitude.

They did a fine job on the doors and got them installed properly. They made sure they fit properly and I was very satisfied with their work. They cleaned up well and the doors are working fine. They gave me an estimate and they stuck to it, which I liked. They installed good quality doors.
