If you are looking for a grounds crew to do basic yard work, this company is just ok. If you have any specific requests, I would not use Grounds Guys of East Greenville. I negotiated a fair and acceptable price of $200 a month for weekly yard up keep during the summer, and biweekly during the winter months. The outfit did arrive on the appropriate days and performed the work. However, they did not follow through on specific requests. For example, I pointed out my yard boundaries and specifically asked that the side portions of my yard be mowed to the survey stakes and the leaves collected there. Nada. With repeated requests they finally mowed to the yard boundaries, but never removed all of the leaves (I even sent pictures showing what needed to be done). I pointed out a steel survey marker (picture also provided) and asked them to avoid hitting it with their mowers. Nada, the pole is now bent. I let them know that I mow the front yard diagonally for a pattern. Nada - they repeatedly mowed straight across. They did collect leaves - but did not collect the leaves blown into bushes, the chain link fence or the drive way borders. The work looked incomplete. In my back yard, I had a wheel barrow that had yard waste that had fallen on its side, and that I had not had time to get back out to scoop up. The crew just mowed around it(!), and didn't bother to collect the yard waste and take it away. I paid to have some bushes removed and a tree cut down. I specifically asked Jason for the wood from the tree to be cut up for fire wood and left on my property, as I have a wood burning stove. Nada - the work was done, with good cleanup - but the wood was taken away and never returned. When I repeatedly e-mailed (with no response) and called about the tree stump removal, the wife of the owner said "Oh, I thought I got back to you already, sorry, I will get right on that, as we subcontract that work out." Nada - no one ever called or came to remove the stump. When I repeatedly e-mailed with requests to correct the above issues, I never got a reply. When I called, Ashley always said "Oh, I thought I took care of that, and I'll make sure it is corrected." Nada. Jason and Ashely seem to be a small husband and wife franchise with hired workers (who do the work they are told to perform). I think they have a bit too much on their plate to provide more than the basic follow through on their work. If you are looking for just basic yard work, they are fine. If you are looking for attention to detail, with good customer service and responsiveness, I recommend looking elsewhere.

I never received anything back from this company. The man that came was great to talk with, however I did not get what I expected. When I called him for something to look at, I received no quote, no plan, no estimate, nothing.

As a new resident and a transplant from up north, I needed advice on best practices for making my southern yard lovely and healthy. I was hoping to get some insight on either the hardscape side of things (drainage, fencing, privacy, seasonal considerations) or the softscape side of things (specific plants for sunny/shady areas or my specific soil types). Instead of advice, the consultation consisted of a walk around my yard and pleasant small talk about yards in general. The gentleman was very nice, but admitted he knew very little about plants. I enjoyed our talk, but didn't get any information that would have helped.

It took a couple weeks to get on the schedule for them to come out to the house and do the work, but it was worth the wait. The house is a rental and the yard was in desparate need of some love . I was very impressed and hope to get them out to do more work at the house very soon.

Owner never showed up to job. New lawn never sprouted. Owner promised to "do-over" in fall. Claimed cold weather was the fault.
New drainage pipe installation. Wrong type of pipe used. Had to dig up pipe and "do over".
More than 20 major plants that were relocated all died within weeks of the move. Owner claimed the weather was at fault again and there was no guarantee on that part of the job.
I'm out over $6000 with nothing to show for it. I had to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau. Company never responded to my claim. The only note in the disputes section on this listing is "stalemate". That is incorrect as the owner never called to try and reach resolution of the problems with this job.

"Regretfully, there are some unscrupulous contractors as we both found out. This job was illegally sold to another company acting under our name, after this revelation became known I stepped in got law enforcement involved and did the best we could to resolve the issues at hand. we replaced the faulty pipe and after we discussed what your objectives were for the lawn we made the appropriate recommendations. GroundsGuys employees never relocated any plants or performed any seeding therefore can't be held responsible for the performance of another company or person acting outside of the law. Charges have been filed and are currently being pursued by our company."

I think his business has kind of grown and i think he is really getting trouble in getting people who can really do a good job and he kind of has trouble in that line but he is a very honest person. he kind of had to replace the saw and he lost money on that, he does a good job.

We made an appointment for Thurs. April 10th at 6:00pm. When he hadn't shown by 6:45 we gave him a call, it went to voice mail.He called us at 7:15 to say he had forgotten our appointment. We made another one for Sat. April 12th at 10:00.
We walked him around our yard. We put in an inground pool late last Summer and needed landscaping advice regarding plants, hardscapes, etc. He suggested sod, and to just continue with the few plants (boxwood) we had already planted. He never took any notes, didn't draw a plan or anything. I feel like the service he provided would be one that a landscaper would provide for free. For $49 it was a rip off.

"Thank you for your response, I offered several options of plants for your pool area, the ones you currently had in place were fine but were incomplete so I suggested you complete the area and enhance with several other options. With the lay of the land you had on the upper area of the pool stapling sod was the only choice I could offer, seeding wouldn't work on the embankment you had. In the area down the walkway I suggested you build a raised bed you said you had thought of that and I agreed it was a good choice. I apologize for letting the appointment slip through we do get very busy this time of year and sometimes an appt gets by us."

Crew arrived as expected. They could not rake out leaves in flower beds due to likely damage shrubs. I requested they use blowers to clear the leaves. I loaned them my blower to aid in the process. They completed the work as expected. After they left, I found the pull handle on my blower broken and no where to be found. Several shrubs and even a small new Redbud tree had broken branches and I had to ask the guys to finish blowing off the driveway , sidewalk and porch before they left. Not the "A" service I expected.

My experience was okay. I liked the concept of what they offer. Scheduling was fine and the lady I was working with through the process left the company. There was some confusion from what I actually got in my appointment versus what the coupon stated. I was expecting drawings and they said they would not provide that. Based on our conversation during the appointment, I elected to not move forward with them.

Excellently. They were extremely helpful in planning the landscaping. Punctual and enthusiastic and really cared about what they did and my satisfaction. Kim and Ben came out and did a walk through and accessed my property. Kim got back in touch with me with a detailed plan to improve my property with the use of drain boxes to help with water issues and the use of plants to improve the landscaping with the use of mulch and plants. At this time I just wanted to get a game plan formulated and Kim did exactly what I wanted! I would recommend Kim and the staff at CPL Lawn Care and Landscaping to anyone!
