Make sure that you have these people come out first and get a firm price on the work to be done. We bought a new house and we wanted a substantial amount of work done prior to moving in. I had an electrician identified, but, after expressing interest, he stopped returning calls/emails. In something of a pinch, I contacted Gosling. Marc said he could have someone here on the following Friday, the 8th. I didn't ask about price, I just wanted the work done. Electrician came on time and started with the pendant lights and installing a switch for these light. He did a nice job on these. After working several hours on these and moving some fans, he stated he had to leave to do a service call somewhere in the vicinity. He was gone for more than 2 hours. When he came back, he installed the surge protector. By this time it was getting later in the day and he stated he had to leave. There was still work to be done and I thought that he would be back the upcoming Monday - not so. He stated he was going to Texas for training and would be gone the entire week, but would finish the job the Monday after. That Monday came and went with no electrician. After several calls and texts, we settled on the 26th. On the 26th he came several hours late, so late that I called another electrician and made an appointment with them to finish the work that Gosling didn't. Almost immediately after I made that appointment, the electrician showed up, this time with a helper. They finished the work that should have been completed on the 8th, and this time the electrician started pitching a lightning arrester, something he received training on in Texas. We negotiated a price and figured on the next Monday for that. I paid the bill for the day's service, and after he left, I checked the bill against the previous bill. On the 8th I was charged $90 for a dimmer, on the 26th, I was charged $134 for the exact same dimmer, installed in the same box as the previous dimmer. Very bad form and I cancelled any more work to be done by Gosling Also, with a firm price quote, the electrician was referring to some magic book, that supposedly gave him a range of prices to charge for his services. Lots of room for abuse in this kind of arrangement, as the $44 swing in price for exact same dimmer shows. So in general, we had missed appointments, late appointments, and at least one instance of overcharging. Use these people if you have to, but make sure you get a firm price for your work and get a price from someone else for the same work. I should have, and "paid the price".

Jay was my technician.  He was AWESOME!!!  Courteous, knowledgeable, perfectionist.  Can't say enough great things about the quality of his service.  I've had a lot of technicians in my house as I prepare to sell my home and he is, by far, the best I have had the pleasure to come in contact with.  If I need lighting services again, I will be asking for Jay.

Gosling Electric was very accommodating. The electrician scheduled to come out had an emergency and could not make it, but I was notified, and another electrician was sent in his place. He was courteous and professional and cleaned up the workspaces very well. Everything was installed 4 months ago and still working perfectly.

I purchased a Big Deal for the installation of an outdoor electrical ground fault receptacle/cover ( to be installed within three feet of an existing indoor receptacle).  After leaving phone messages for about two weeks, and two brief conversations with the owner Mark Gosling, relating that I had purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for this service, I finally got a call from a service tech by the name of Josh regards a time that was convenient for him to do the installation; I could be available any time. Josh said he would be out to do the install at the end of the day.  However, at the end of the day, Josh called again to say he was running late, and asked if he could come the next day.  We set up an appointment time again.
Josh showed up on time and was very pleasant.  Unfortunately there was an apparent miscommunication, because Josh installed the outdoor receptacle on the immediate opposite side of the indoor receptacle/outlet instead of the three foot extended placement that we requested.  Though not ideal, my husband and I are very easy going people, and we decided we could live with the placement.  However, when I went outside to inspect the receptacle, I saw that Josh had installed what he called a "bell box" style receptacle, instead of the more traditional, basic flush mount outdoor style receptacle that was pictured on the Big Deal.  We told Josh we needed the flush mount receptacle; the bell box receptacle protruded so far out of the house exterior that it did not allow us to re-position the deck furniture back up against the house where it belonged.  He said that replacing it was not a problem, and that he would be back on Monday to finish the job. But, come Monday, Josh didn't show up and no one called. I tried to reach him at the number he gave me and it was no longer in service!
I then called Mark Gosling.  Once again, I left a couple of messages over the course of a week,  none of which were returned.  Then, on one of my calls to a different phone number that I had for Mark, he picked up the call. He told me that he was sorry he didn't get a chance to return any of my previous calls, and that he had "fired" Josh.  He didn't provide any details about why he fired him, and I didn't ask, but acknowledged that if he was down a tech unexpectedly, he must be backed up on his schedule. Mark told me that he appreciated my understanding and that he would get out to rectify the problem sometime that week.  I asked only that he give me a day or two notice so that I could arrange to be there and he said, no problem. By week's end, with no word from Mark again, I called him.  Another whole week passed, with a couple more un-returned phone call/messages.  Finally, I called from a different phone, and Mark picked up on the call.  He apologized again, telling me he needed to speak with someone at Angie's List, because the Big Deal offer that I received was some kind of mistake -- he hadn't offered any such Big Deal in a long time.  He told me that he had been in the ER one night, and I expressed my concern about balancing work and health. Then he told me that he would be at our house the Monday coming, at 9:00 a.m., to switch out the bell box style for the flush mount receptacle - the one that was advertised, and the one that we needed.  
  
Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. no one from Gosling Electric showed up.  By 10:30, when no one had bothered to contact me, I called Mark Gosling. I left messages at the phone numbers that I had for him, asking him to call and let me know how far out they were from doing our job.  At 12:00 noon, I sent an email to him at the email address listed on his website, asking him to please call and let me know the status.  I even called and left a message the next day, as did my husband, but, by this time, I was not surprised when we didn't receive any response from Mark.
Now, I just feel so foolish. I never doubted, not for a second, that Mark would honor the appointment date that he made with me. I feel ashamed at being so naive--another gullible senior citizen.

This is the third time my sister and I have used Gosling Electric. I called Marc in the evening because my sister's kitchen light suddenly failed. Josh called the next morning. He came right away and diagnosed a bad ballast which he replaced along with the bulbs. Gosling Electric really helped out when we needed them. We have always been very satisfied with the responsiveness, professionalism and quality of their work. We next plan to have them replace 3 outdoor light fixtures which are rusted.

I called Gosling as one of many to try to find a "reasonable" quote for what I thought was a pretty simple job. After hearing several companies wanting to charge a fee to even come out to give an estimate and having several quotes which were just preposterous, I was skeptical that I would ever find someone to do the job for a reasonable price. I was shocked at quotes I received from other companies which were 3-4x this price. I guess the other guys looked at my address and assumed that I was either stupid or rich (or best case for them, both). The owner on the phone was very nice and scheduled a time the next day to give me a quote. When he knew he could not make the appointment he had one of his other employees call me directly and tell me that the owner was stuck at another job in Greenwood and asked if he could come by to give the quote- MAJOR points for that- The electrician who showed up was JOSH ROBINSON. He was courteous, clean, punctual and gave me a great price for the work. He was honest and felt bad that I had been quoted so high from other companies. His quote was great. He called when he was going to be a little late to the appointment today to do the work, and apologized for being late. He and his apprentice worked quickly- finished the job, cleaned up after themselves. I can not state what a great job they did and at a fair price. He stated that they warrantee the work for a year. Bravo Gosling electrical and BRAVO JOSH ROBINSON.

It worked out well. It took them a little while to figure it out, but they did it. I?M giving them a B because they offered to do additional services and didn?t show up twice. The initial job was done well, though.

The guys showed up right on time and completed the job in just over an hour.  They had to go up in the attic and moved heavy boxes so I wouldn't have to and replaced them.  They cleaned up after the job was completed.  Both were very polite and professional.  I would definitely use this company again if I need any electrical work done.  I am 100% satisfied with the results.
