First Class HALT

The team at First Class Halt is fantastic and incredibly honest. I've used them for all periodic book maintenance and nonroutine service for three Hondas. On a couple occasions, when something was subject to recall, they would actually decline the work and send me a dealer to get the work done for free. Their honesty and integrity will keep me coming back into perpetuity. If you have a Honda, Acura, Lexus or Toyota, use these guys!

Went well. They are extremely reluctant to give you any idea of cost before you commit to them. I didn't like that. Most places will give you some idea of what you're facing.

The cost was about $ 250 for brakes.

They are excellent. They are  really good. They are really good. They take the time to sit down and explain to you what they are doing and why are doing it. They show you what needed changing and why. They are really good about explaining things to you.

We've been taking our cars to Mark and his team at First Class HALT for years, and wouldn't take them anywhere else. Mark is always very personable and very available to answer questions, etc. The estimate is always fair and accurate, as are their descriptions of what needs to be done, and the overall communication is excellent. We've been there for everything from timing belts and water pumps to steering racks to struts and shocks to basic maintenance, and have never once been disappointed. We've even had them call us to tell us they were not going to do work we thought we needed because it wasn't necessary! The work is first class, the people are first class and the service exceeds expectations.

I noticed a warning on my car to check the air pressure on the tires/ very strange/ never happens/ First Class
had been recommended to me by a trusted friend as being excellent, and so I was closeby to them and they
got to me right away/ they were extremely honest, thorough and professonal and friendly.
They told me that I had a nail in one tire, got it out and plugged it and said that I would want to get the front tires
replace in 8000 miles/ (they do not sell tires there so they were only trying to go the extra mile to let me know
what needed to be done from that point)
They were extremely helpful and I was especially impressed that since I didn't have an appt and just dropped in
and they knew I was headed out of the town that day, that they took the car and inspected it and fixed it right away.

A great experience. They earned the name first class. When it seemed like there might be a scheduling issue they even rented a car for me to use. Professional and friendly, honest and knowledgable.

First I spoke with Greg on the phone to find out if and about how much he thought the repair would be.  I had a quote from the dealer and it was more than I thought was appropriate.  He set up the appointment, and followed up twice during the 2 days to make sure I was OK with what they had to do and the estimated cost.  Both times I was there to drop off and pick up the very nice woman who checked me in was wonderful.  Greg actually came out to meet me since it was my first time there.  Not only was my car done in record time (they had to bring a part in), it was several hundred dollars less that the dealer's cost.  No one likes to take their car in for service but I will never take either of our cars anywhere else.  This is a place that values' your time, your car and your money!

Their work on the car included running the diagnostics for the problem, complete oil change (which included tire rotation), and replacement of the air filter.  They also went over the car to check for any other problems.

We're very happy to take their recommendation of oil changes every 5000 miles from now on.  Quite honestly, we're very happy to take their recommendations regarding any future care of our vehicles.

During our one day of snow I ended up in a ditch and needed to be towed out.  I drove my car home and didn't drive until I could get it inspected to make sure everything was okay with it.  I took my car to a Honda dealership (I have a 2008 Honda Fit) and was told I needed the following work done:
Right lower control arm was bent and needed replaced$400
Right inner tie rod bent and needed replaced $350
Alignment $80
Right rim bent and needed replaced $500
Since no property damage was done I did not file a police report for ending up in the ditch.  Because of the "damage" to my car I decided to wait and contact my insurance company so I told the dealership I would pick up my car.  I wanted another opinion so I called First Class HALT.  I dropped off after hours one night and by mid morning the next day they called to advise of their findings.  I did have a bent rim which would be $464 to replace and I also needed an alignment $70.  First Class HALT was not able to find the damage mentioned on the right lower control arm or inner tie rod.
I was told First Class HALT would take care of me and boy did they ever!  I promise it is worth checking out.  I can not say enough good things.  Do not be like me and use them as a 2nd opinion by pass the hassle and go to them first.

They are very honest and prompt. It’s a very clean waiting room and they were knowledgeable. They are very, very good. He’s always cheaper than the dealership. Their quality is excellent. I’ve never had a problem.

About 10 days ago, I went to my local Honda dealer because of a vibration in the front end of my car.   I was first told it was a problem with the tires (which are relatively new) and then it was decided that I needed new struts.  Because of the expense involved in replacing struts, I sought other quotes.  I called First Class HALT.  They were welcoming and suggested that I bring my car in so they could drive it and check out the problem.  Additionally, they put the car up on the rack to examine the existing struts and springs. The end result was that I did not need new struts on my car, and therefore saved $900 in unneeded costs.  Will I go back for them to do any needed work on my car?  Absolutely!!  Ladies, if you are looking for an honest car repair service company, this is IT!!  These guys ROCK!!

Mark and his First Class team have service my personal cars and the cars for my business for the past three years.  As their business has grown, Mark has added team members that I feel have cared about my car as much as Mark did the first time I went there.  Greg assisted me in my most recent visits.  Greg stepped in and gave me the same great service that I was use to getting from the owner. They do an excellent job of identifying issues and potential issues with your vehicle and assisting you in determining the best course of action to keep you on the road for years to come.  My current Toyota has 188,000 miles on it and I know that under First Class HALT's care, it has many years of reliable use left. 
This visit was to identify a noise that I hear coming from my front tire area.  I had replaced the tires as they were worn and when that didn't solve my problem, I immediately went to FCH.  Greg suspected a wheel bearing problem but had a technician ride with me to verify.  The technician came out to my car with a paper mat in hand even though we were just riding around the block.  He verified the likelihood of a bad wheel bearing and they have inspected both and replaced them.  They informed me of the condition of both bearings and allowed me to choose how to proceed based on their recommendations.  I appreciate them putting information in my hands and assisting me in the decision versus some places that just do anything they feel could be done.

They are always very nice and accomodating. I only scheduled an oil change, but when I asked them about a small noise my car was making they took the time to diagnose it and fixed in about half the time they normally would, just so I could get my kids at school and not have to bring it in again for another visit. 
I've worked with this company for years and they are ALWAYS much less than the dealer, and very honest and friendly. The only mechanic I can truly say that I trust. :)

Work was great. They had to put an additional part on and did not notify me for approval. When i picked up my car they showed me where i had signed authorizing them to do that. Next time i will read the fine print before signing. But i was pleased enough with their work that i am going back.
